• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2021 RT Passenger grips are not very warm and the illuminated switch is very dull compared to the heated seat switch next to it - any ideas?

Two position rocker switch. Two heater elements in each grip. Engine must be running. Probably need to pull some bodywork off to check the wiring. See if this helps. Edited for accuracy.

Any video's about replacing clutch cables? My 2012 Spyder RT SM5's clutch lever is sticking!

Well Tex. I think the point of all of that ^^^^^^^^^ is to just make sure that you're up to date on your maintenance. Which we already covered. Beyond that, I'm going to sit on the bench on the rest of this. I don't have adequate real-world, hands-on experience with the SM5 clutch. You might...

Red Check Engine light on the dash and Orange Check engine light flashing. Any ideas/fixes?

Hey T., So, the CEL showing with no codes is definitely not supposed to happen. But, I've heard of this from others before. And it also happened to my 2012 a few years back after I got some bad gas out west. The original codes were ‘Lean on Bank 2,’ coming and going, every few minutes. After...

Any video's about replacing clutch cables? My 2012 Spyder RT SM5's clutch lever is sticking!

Um. Tex. I hate to surprise you like this, but there is no clutch cable on a 2012 RT sm5. It's hydraulic. There's fluid in that reservoir right there by the clutch lever. Specifically, DOT 4 brake fluid. Refer to your operator's guide for maintenance instructions. If you don't have an operators...

Red Check Engine light on the dash and Orange Check engine light flashing. Any ideas/fixes?

So, you have this screen? (Hope I get this whole thumbnail thing right)

Red Check Engine light on the dash and Orange Check engine light flashing. Any ideas/fixes?

Regardless of the code, you'll need to get that crap gas out of the tank. Buying it? (shrug) North Carolina, right? Has the Heat Management recall been performed on it? Is it a Limited? What color is it? This is probably only the beginning of your problems. The 998 needs to be run. Think of...

What is involved with 'Validating the Low Pressure Switch' when doing a Brake Fluid Change? Does it need BUDS?

So, Poasttown. Hello fellow Ohioan. Yes, that LAST step is just a validation step that requires BUDS2 in order to read the actual value. It's not about reseting the code yet, that step just reads the value. What it is telling you, is that the brake fluid pressure is above the minimum threshold...

Red Check Engine light on the dash and Orange Check engine light flashing. Any ideas/fixes?

Hey T. Many times, when someone has a Check Engine Light, and they say "no codes displayed", they have forgotten that codes don't simply pop up on the screen on their own. You have to push some buttons to get them to display. So, just to be certain of everything, start it up, make sure that the...

    F3 w/aftermarket bags needs a cover - any thoughts?

I would think that this one would be close enough: https://www.slingmods.com/canam-spyder-f3-f3s-full-cover-for-use-with-3-piece-luggage Or, take the bag and rack off and just use the standard cover: https://www.slingmods.com/can-am-spyder-f3-f3s-f3t-full-cover-ultragard

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

A bit more info from Smoak. Brief overview of engine removal and an old broken shaft. It’s hollow. I expect he will give more sneak peeks from time to time. Starts around time 8:00. (No, that Champagne machine is there for other problems, not for this).

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

Well, not actually “regardless”. This Note in 2019-13 seemed to clarify the sprocket thing, although I had to read it over more than once. NOTE: BRP included in this combined bulletin the vehicles with an open campaign from Safety Bulletins 2019-10 (front sprocket wear) and 2019-12 (output...

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

Excellent concern. Anyone can file a complaint or safety concern with NHTSA. NHTSA DOES have the authority to modify a manufacturer’s recall remedy.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I thought I would start a new thread with this new information, rather than burying it inside 6 pages of the other one. The Mods can change that if they want. BRP has issued the final Safety Bulletins to the dealers on how to perform the recalls. There are two. There is the stand-alone bulletin...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

Sorry Friend, but no, not great. You have some mis-interpretations on this. To clarify, you are in Germany. The NHTSA is a United States agency. The NHTSA VIN Look-up monitors vehicles in the US and vehicles imported into the US. It will not monitor a vehicle exported between Canada and the EU...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

No, the GEARBOX is a separate case bolted to the engine. In order to change out the output shaft, aka main shaft, gearbox disassembly is required. Unless the BRP engineers have come up with a new procedure for this, the first step for gearbox disassembly, officially, is to remove the engine from...

Is adding cruise control to a 2015 F3 as simple as changing the switch block?

Yep. That’s pretty much all you have to do. A number of threads on the forum confirm and support that. Use part number 710004583. Don’t know if that’s the part number of a 2012 switch. Can’t look right now. Look things up for yourself to be sure. Post #7 below confirms it works on a 2015. Good...

09 Spyder GS lost key - is it possible to program new keys to the Spyder?

No, as James correctly said and you quoted, he needs a working key already programmed. He doesn’t have that, either.
