• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Another coolant leak.

Not certain exactly this one is originating from. I had the water pump assembly replaced in October due to coolant starting to leak from the weep hole. Only got in about 8 rides until I did an oil change on January 15. It was then, I noticed some "staining" on the inside of the right side...

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

Check all those factory oetiker clamps when you start pulling any panels. I have had to replace every single one of them with screw type clamps due to some form of leaking over time.

Had a bad morning at my local Can Am dealer in NE Florida, just a FYI.

Yes, I received a very similarly worded response from BRP regarding a visit to my local dealership - and my unit is still under the BEST warranty til April next year. "We have no control, etc........"

    Great Dealer Service

I live 75 miles away in Leesburg, Va. and just took my Spyder up to them on Tuesday as I was getting little satisfaction from my local dealer. Hopefully, my experience will be similar, as he came recommended by some other members.

Oil leak on left side of engine - Troubles continue!

Gonna have to bite the bullet and let the dealer mess with it. Don't like letting them screw with it again, and not knowing when they will get around to it. Next two closest dealers are further away and also backed up thru October for appointments, so either way, I would have to drop it off in...

Oil leak on left side of engine - Troubles continue!

Well, I have a mess. The Spyder will definitely be going back to the dealer, much as I hate to do so. Pulled both the left and right lower cover panels today. Double - checked everything for tightness again on the left side and found no new apparent issues. The right side, however, was a mess...

Oil leak on left side of engine - Troubles continue!

I always do the two filter covers separately. However, Both are tight and clean around their perimeters. I'm gonna have to look a little closer. Right now, aside from where it is collecting, I can't actually determine where the oil may be coming from other than the fact that the drops are there...

Oil leak on left side of engine - Troubles continue!

I'll take a look, but the oil is collecting on the left side of the engine where the lower panel cover, brake lines and frame member meet. The oil drops are near where the oil filter housing and drain plug are located, but they are both clean.

Oil leak on left side of engine - Troubles continue!

Troubles continue After having my Spyder in the shop for almost a month during April-May for engine oils leaks, I thought that they had figured out the issues and corrected them (broken valve cover gaskets and shift piston boot leaks). Been keeping a close eye on everything (because I am...

Horn not working! Anything simple to look for??

Well, this turned out to be an easy fix. Pulled the body panels near the horn and discovered one of the horn connections pulled off. Also noticed the wiring harness wire ties along the frame were all cut and not replaced and the wiring not placed into their respective clips. Obviously, when...

Horn not working! Anything simple to look for??

Will do that. Raining here today so it will be a good project - and hopefully a short one.

Horn not working! Anything simple to look for??

Was wondering which relay it might be as I did not see any indication of a horn circuit listed in the owner' manual or fuse box covers. Trying to search the service manual now for that info.

Horn not working! Anything simple to look for??

Just realized today that my horn is not working. I don’t see a fuse listed in the owner’s manual or on the fuse box covers. Every other function is working on the bike. Before I get home and start tearing things apart, is there anything simple I could be looking for first? The horn button feels...

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

Just a wee follow-up on things since the new CPS unit and new silicone vacuum hoses. 6 tanks of gas and no issues. Mileage appears to have actually increased by about 1-1/2 to 2 MPG. Thanks again for all that commented or made suggestions.

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

Got the new CPS unit installed yesterday along with the new silicone vacuum hoses a few days ago. Had a nice long 250 mile ride and everything went well - except for that dang thunderstorm that came the west and chased my butt back home for 60 miles. I did beat it, however...... Thanks to...

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

The hose section arrived today as I was in the middle of doing an oil change, so while the panels were off, I replaced them. Kinda tight in there, but I got it done. Nice color by the way. Thank you again for your generosity. I'll be doing a ride tomorrow feeling a little better.

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

Part plus tax and shipping was about $107 from Cheap Cycle Parts. Not sure how common it is - it just showed up as a trouble code on the gauge cluster, so I'm replacing it to be safe, and upon the advice of some helpful members' suggestions.

Absolutely. As soon as the new parts come I, on they shall go.

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

I now suspect that dealer applied zip tied vacuum hose is/was a major contributing factor to my initial engine problems. As an experiment, I attached a temporary smaller zip tie to the vacuum hose fitting - one that I was actually able to attach tight enough so that I could no longer pull the...
