• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Carrying Concealed

I carry a hammerless Ruger SP 101 2", .357 in a IWB Crossbred holster or in the conceal carry pocket of my Xelement leather jacket when on the Spyder. My wife carries a LadySmith .38. I carry everywhere. The so called 'gun free' zones can ask us to leave if they notice that we're carrying which...

    Independent Tire Dealer for Spyders

There is a new independant tire dealer in Divide who will mount Spyder tires. I just ordered a General Altimax RT43 from him for the rear and he got it the next day and put on the wheel in about 10 minutes. I'll be getting my front ones from him too. He saved me about $20 over Big O. The name is...

License plate light lens bolt - 2009 GS

I went to Walmart and bought a $6 LED clearance light, took the reflector and housing off and wired the LED in. Now I have another taillight. Its not wired for a brake light, just a tail. I don't ride at night so I don't really need it to light up the license plate. You would have to drill some...

    Gold Plugs..

Thanks guys.. I screwed it in several times by hand the first few threads but then it wouldn't go any further. I finally used several crush washers that I had and got it in tight. I'm going to order a M14x1 tap and clean it up. Its in the reservoir, not the engine so its a little tougher than...

    Gold Plugs..

Has anyone else had any problems with the Gold Plugs? I'm changing oil in my 2012 RS and the engine plug went right in fine. The oil reservoir however only goes in about 3 threads and that's about it. I've even used a cheater on my 3/8" ratchet and its tight!! I've checked the threads with the...

    Oil Question (Again) Sorry!

It sounds like choice of oil is about like choice of tires. There are several choices out there. I decided on Rotella T6 because of what I read about it and although it is SM rated, it doesn't have the 'friction modifiers' in it that other oils have which is the cause of clutch slippage. Its...

    Oil Question (Again) Sorry!

There is another older thread on oils on here and it was determined that the codes on the back of the Rotella T6 specified it was suitable for wet clutch applications. >>>>Motorcycle usageThough marketed as an engine oil for diesel trucks, Rotella oil has found popularity with motorcyclists as...

    Aspen Touring A/S tires.

Has anyone used or looked into these Aspen Touring A/S tires for your Spyder? I've searched and read all the 'tire' posts on here and pretty much know what everyone is using or suggesting in the way of tires but I found these at Big O and they look like they might be a suitable tire to use. They...

    Glue for Laminar Lip tabs..

I just bought a 2012 RS with a Laminar Lip on the windshield. It was placed too low on the windshield for me and has another 3" it can go up. I've taken the tabs all off and cleaned the sticky off of them but I'd like to know what kind of glue or double sided tape to use to remount it.. Thanks...

    Cover it up!

I use a fitted King size flannel sheet to cover my RS in the barn. It covers everything except the rear fender and does a great job of keeping the dust off. Nothing fancy or expensive. We got it from Goodwill for $4.99 !
