• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are the front shocks on a 2011 RT the same as on a 2015?

I think what Ron is saying is that 2011 shocks “are” adjustable. It’s built into them, simply tighten the cup/thread to increase the load weight/spring tension to make them stiffer. Later years like the '15, they were “not” adjustable. Early years were, but it depended on the models.

Reservations made for next year's Deadwood Three Wheel Rally!

I’ll even add to this. I was at Sturgis for the 50th and I can tell you with all seriousness Sturgis is nothing like what it used to be. We were there in 08, 09, and 12, and I hate to sound old and even petty, but Sturgis today is mild and pansies compared to the 80’s and 90’s. You won’t have...

    Thankyou veterans!

Of all the forums (sites) I belong to , this one probably has more veterans than any due to the machine. Please go get a “free” breakfast, coffee, donut, “free” lunch and awesome dinner at a one of the many places that offer it for you. It’s “free” because of you! Thankyou for your service!

New signature - now map shows States visited on Spyder!

Thats how I did mine too. I have visited all the states but Hawaii in person but my spyder map on spyderlovers signature is for spyder rides actually touching the ground and moving, not even previous 2 wheels but only spyder. My toyhauler map is for the toyhauler on a separate site! My spyder...

Would appreciate any advice on Spyder General Maintenance Costs?

You might be right. I didn’t think it was a yearly thing but maybe it was. I was thinking the old 998 was more than yearly depending on storage conditions but I am probably wrong as in adjusting valves. I know Paula has only had it once and she’s got a heck of a lot of miles on here’s since she...

Would appreciate any advice on Spyder General Maintenance Costs?

Where did you get this information? Oil is changed every 10,000 miles if Amsoil is used or around 6000 with BRP. So only 2 times a year for 12000 miles at most $300 if you do it yourself and buy a case load. No way do your valves need adjusted! Not sure who told you that? Air filter is reused...

Hit and run damage to a Ryker!

Nice job! They make that wide duct tape if needed over the outside as a mask to make rigid if needed. We used it on snowmobiles during races. Pretty impressive stuff.

Hit and run damage to a Ryker!

Looking at the picture, I don’t think someone hit you with a car. There is no scuff marks on the rim or even tire. Only thing could be a big truck hitch sticking out the back. Thats an intentional shoe damage. Someone intentionally put their foot through that fender flat footed. Only other...

What needs adjusting to improve Rear seat release? How do I get to it?

Did you by chance spray the actual metal latch coupler ( jaws) with white lithium spray? I also spray the latch bar/ pin too and it seems to help without having to adjust anything. I do it every winter including the hinges themselves. Just a thought before you start tearing the plastic off to...

I put my Spyder to bed today, for A Long Winter's Sleep!

31, heavy frost and spitting snow this morning with winds coming across the lake from you Wisconsin boys. No lake effect yet but it’s a coming very soon! All thought they are calling for a 60 degree day on Wednesday. To dark in the morning and to dark at night. Deer are running heavy now so My...

Blinkers/4-ways stopped working - anyone else? Ideas?

I’m not sure what model you have and if this even applies but if I remember correctly the turn/blinker wire attaches in up by the mirror, I think. Could the mirror have pinched a wire or if you have magic mirrors when removing the plug could you have pinched, pulled, or stripped the wire? Again...

Is there a Warranty Transfer Fee?

In the skidoo realm it is not uncommon for a person to raise the price or sell the sled at a higher price because of the 3 extra years to recoop the cost and or use it as a selling point. Our price for the spyder 3 year BEST is half the cost of sleds and SXS BEST if bought at Imotorsports. I’ll...

Is there a Warranty Transfer Fee?

Here are 2 specific examples. I sold a 2019 skidoo freeride. The skidoo had 2 years factory warranty and also had the 3 year BEST. I sold the sled in 2021 before the factory warranty ended. The new owner needed warranty work done last season and he lives in Wisconsin. He simply took the skidoo...

Is there a Warranty Transfer Fee?

In both skidoo and can -am (SXS and wheelers) both are directly transferable ( factory and BEST) most factory are 2 years and BEST can be done up to 5 years total ( 2+3). BEST can only be purchased 1 time. It travels with the vin number so if new owner goes to a different dealer all that dealer...

    What is a VSS fault?

Fulltimer are you telling me you leave your poor spyder up north for 6 months and are in Apache junction for the beautiful weather from November till May? Rent a small Uhaul trailer and take that thing with you. I’m guessing storage of trailer is not an option for you so rent one. Then rent a...

Which full cover will fit a '17 RT with F4 28" windshield?

I need to purchase a full cover for my 2017 RTL. I have a F4 28 inch windshield. Which cover will work? BRP’s, ultragard, Nelson Riggs, etc? I will obviously have the shield lowered but don’t know if there’s enough room with the extended high and wide windshield. I currently have a nelson Riggs...

When you put your Spyder up on 3 ramps, do you lose the back one?

I use my motorcycle lift, lift the spyder up and slide all 3 ramps in. I never drive up onto the ramps. I actually many times, depending of if what I need and room, will face the front 2 ramps towards the front and the rear facing out. It can never roll away if the parking brake is accidentally...

1330cc Maintenance questions for a 2015 Spyder RT Limited

Look up 28000 mile maintenance recommendations. Sounds like it was never done. Spark plugs recommended at 28k but I’ll be honest most do around 40K. Read the list of the 28000 maintenance and do that for sure. Your front tires should probably getting close if they are OEM. Brake pads should be...

What size Trailer to Haul Two Spyders? What ramp angle?

To slide a rear tire the easiest, fold a very good heavy duty tarp in half or even thirds. Put the rear tire over the tarp and pull the top fold on the tarp. Since the fold is against the other part of the tarp its plastic vs plastic providing little resistance. If needed, you can wet the tarp...

    Do I Have A Lemon?

Personally, that seems way too high of price for both, even at a dealer. The parts for both are under $800 total and that’s even high. Yes, left control is expensive and a lot of work but that’s still pretty high, maybe 3 maybe 4-hour job at dealer at tops I’d think. I’d check around at another...
