• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    If you're in California....

But it's the getting there that can be a problem. I had a business where I traveled OR and CA twice a year. Gong down from Portland, we'd cross into CA in mid to late April and the fall trip we'd enter late October. The route took us down I-5, a right to Ventura, then up 101. We'd hit the...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

Maybe your bike is different, but when I'm adjusting the belt, I have someone press their feet hard against the back of the tire to pressure the wheel forward. Works for me.

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

Someone recently posted a way of thinking that simplifies the job. The left adjuster is for belt tension, the right for alignment. Apply some anti seize on the working surface of the bolt head and nut and they won't crawl.

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

WILCO.......Buy a Krikit II - you will be doing readings in the 150 +/- 10 range, so get one that reads no more than 200. They come with directions for use and it's very simple. You just have to be careful not to touch it on anything as you are withdrawing it. That'll need some practice...

    If you're in California....

There will still be snow in the Siskiyous then. Even the coast can have snow. I've been snowed on in late April on both routes.

Star washers for trunk rack mounting?

+1 for ss fender washers. But place a rubber washer between the plastic and the washer. ACE Hardware is you source for these if you don't have any on hand. Do not over tighten.

Anyone tried Cortech super 2.0 saddlebags? Looking for feedback on fit

The undies get worn just one day and I do pack 4, maybe 5 tighty whities, rolled very tightly for space conservation. Started long distant touring in the 70s, so there's a lot of learning what to pack what not to pack. Something missing? Stores have them. Here's another touring tip: wear/pack...

Anyone tried Cortech super 2.0 saddlebags? Looking for feedback on fit

INAPPROPRIATE RESPONSE. I thought you were referring to case liners. My bad. Can I assume you have not done a lot of long distance touring? The problem with fitted case lugguge is that you will be schlepping everything into the hotel/motel, when all you need are toiletries and a change of...

+ I agree with what Peteoz said. You are very fortunate to have a dealer shop you trust and will mount car tires for that price - I don't. So I do it myself. Well....read this: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?146625-5-people-and-24-tacos-got-er-done + Not being a tool...

The new tire is a Yokhama Avid Touring S -- 215/60-15. I bought it at Discount Tire for $78. Had I known it then, it would have cost $10 less if I showed my AAA membership card. Disount Tire shaves $10 off of each higher quality tire. The tire is slightly larger in diameter and that will...

There will be many more garage sessions as there is a lot to cover. For exampl: brake bleeding and minding the level in the reservoir; swapping out three windshields; installing a new battery - I'm still on the original; the electics in the frunk; oil changes; tire air pressures and much more.

Replacing the front tires the factory puts on Spyders with quality car tires improves the handling dramatically, in every way. Changing those front tires was very easy, as it is with car wheels. Changing a Spyder's rear tire is muuch more arduous and involved. As my two Portland grandkids and...

    A pleasure to ride

I call those the dues I'm paying to live beyond my sell-by date. And boy, am I ever paying them. Not complaining; there are many far worse off than me and a lot who never made it to 85.....and still riding. I have a lot of blessings to count.
