• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need Helmet Help. Considering HJC & GMax - any issues with either?

Snug = good. Tight = bad. Hard spots = bad....very bad, especially if on the forehead. I have both brands and both fit me well, but they did from the start. True, the padding loosens, but over a great length of time. Any tightness will result in headaches.

Anyone know/have the original Bolt size for the switch plate housing?

I wouldn't be surprised if they were 6mm as there are many throughout the bike.

What do you do with your Pedal Commander in the rain?

To each his own. I keep my phone in my jacket and have my SENA paired to it. Also, I like clean handlebars. Having my PC on the handlebar clamp is the perfect spot for me, but maybe not others. Not big on the phone app thing.

What do you do with your Pedal Commander in the rain?

I like to make changes as traffic the road conditions change and/or I have a passenger. If I wanted a "set it and forget it" I'd have gotten a reflash, but I want to have fun with my PC.

What are the Pedal Commander's dimensions?

Velcro did the trick. Easy to reach for changing settings under way.

    1330cc RPM shift points

The secret to smooth shifts is hold the throttle absolutely still when shifting - do not close the throttle when upshifting. It's OK to close it when downshifting to a stop. I assume you have a semi auto, you didn't say. When accelerating hard, you can grab over 6K RPMs.

    Headlights on with engine off??

It's a white plastic 10mm hex beside either bulb. It's easily accessed through the service openings. Tools needed are a 10mm socket on long extensions and a flashlight. Wind painters tape around the socket and extension to prevent losing the socket as you remove the tool. Adjusts vertical only.

    Headlights on with engine off??

I need to adjust the headlights. Is there a way to have them on without the engine running? 2017 F3 Limited

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Try using your mirrors as they were intended to be - side view mirrors. Adjust them to see down the adjacent lanes, so you can see what's there when you need to switch lanes in a hurry to avoid a problem. To see behind you, just move your head. That has worked for me for decades, especially...

    New rider, confession and question

The key to steering a Spyder is, LOOSE HANDS, LOOSE ARMS. Try keeping your fingers open, rather than wrapped around the grips. The power assist is proportional - it fades as speed increases. I think you are trying too hard. There is a learning curve, so give yourself time. Baby steps.

So, what do y'all consider "touring"?

It's when you pack your toothbrush and it's longer than a day ride, by at least by a few days.

(Was Looking to buy... ) Now Have bought this 2017 RTL - Well she's mine!

The 2017s were a solid bike by what I have been reading here. The 1330 engine is vitually bullet proof. The RT is by far a better choice of those you've shown us. That's a great price and if you are like most, you'll only be putting 4 to 5K miles a year on it, so it'll last you forever, or...

Who is using a Pedal Commander? What do you think of it?

Slingmods is the ONLY source for the Pedal Commander for the Spyder. The recently posted a $30 off sale. I don't know if it's still on.

Who is using a Pedal Commander? What do you think of it?

Unlike those who don't have a Pedal Commander knocking it, I have one and I find nothing about it not to like. Its sensitivity is adjustable, even on the fly. I find myself changing the setting relative to the terrain. When there is a passenger on board, I have the sensitivity way down to...
