• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2025 Trip Planning - Maine Mostly

General Safety Recall - is the onus on servicing dealer to notify &/or perform the necessary work?

I can tell you what I experienced. Taking the Spyder in for a NC safety inspection, I just wanted to do the inspection at that time. They informed me of the front pulley recall that I was aware of, but didn't really have time to do the recall of pulley. So since they brought it up, I just had...

Help with adjusting belt tension & alignment please? Any step-by-step guides?

It will help to search and look over the threads about Kricket and belt tension. Hundreds or even thousands of Kricket gages have been sold and keep belt at a range of different tensions per the owner. If you go to a dealership, they will set it at the max rating or even higher than that, based...

Help with adjusting belt tension & alignment please? Any step-by-step guides?

The Kriket gages measure in a different format. They will work. They use lbs, but it might be Kriket lbs. The newer 2020+ models are using up to 220 lbs. I have my 2015 RTL at 165 with wheel on the ground. If you're getting a whistling sound, some of the front pulley's were replaced with a white...

Check out this Belt alignment tool - might help someone...

Not for me, the get down dirty eyeball and spin tire works best. Would need some kind of adapter to hold in place. Don't see how that would work - you're moving rear adjusters to see a GAP on the pulley. The Laser can't be in 2 places at once. And the belt rides near the right rear flange, but...

VSS triggers at start if I forget to shift to neutral before shutting down - normal?

That's the one, BS is bottle supplied (verified on Lamonster's website). You will have to add acid, let it sit, then charge on a low 1 or 2-amp charge. All 1330 engines take the same battery. You can also open the battery compartment and look at the Chinese battery #. There are also Lithium...

VSS triggers at start if I forget to shift to neutral before shutting down - normal?

1st place to start when issues come up with this and these things. Purchased in May '24, did you replace the cheap Chinese battery yet? Even if has been charged up, and or running regularly, the battery just doesn't have good cranking amps and will make issues pop up. Its just cheaply made and...

2011 Spyder with warning light - BRAKE FAILURE - any ideas on how to fix this?

Look at adding a little brake fluid. Even a small amount. Check that the floats are free and pointing towards the front. The same warning can mean low fluid, or the brake control VCM being clogged with contaminated fluid.
