• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Harley Trims Motorcycle Shipments

Here's Indian's performance through August 2024:https://www.motorcyclesdata.com/2024/09/08/indian-motorcycles/http:// I'm still driving a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan I'd just as soon be rid of except for one factor, the cost of its replacement.

Pillion Passenger can't reach the hand grips - any ideas?

My bride can easily reach the passenger grips; however, based on decades and many thousands of miles of tandem bicycle riding, I would definitely not like the grab handles gizmo. When I introduced the better half to the Spyder I told her that, for our safety, just follow my lead as if on the...

    Harley Trims Motorcycle Shipments

I believe the article is about HD primarily because of the way the American public is rejecting the cost of personal transportation vehicles, regardless of method of propulsion. When folks go looking for internal combustion powered vehicles and find that a "reasonably priced" cage is 47 grand...

Any tire companies that make 165/55/15 tires other than Kenda?

I have just under 600 mi on new Quatrac 165/60R15 fronts and they are everything Ron says. Replaced aged Federal EVOs and ride is much smoother; speedo and GPS now agree w/in 1 mph up to 80. Have also found local 7-Eleven selling Exxon with pump nozzles that allow supreme control of fuel flow...

    Harley Trims Motorcycle Shipments

Article in today's WSJ reports Harley slashed its 3rd Qtr shipments by almost 40% year over year due to a glut of bikes. Company expects annual revenue to decline 14-16% compared with an earlier projection of 5-9% decline. It faces slack demand due to high interest rates and typical consumer...

Anyone have experience with Ultra1 Plus 15W50 oil for their 1330? Opinions?

It's at least as hot where I live as it is where the OP resides. Amsoil Metric Full Synthetic 10W-40 is the way to go. If you're pinching pennies look at Walmart for Shell Rotella T-6. I have not used the latter.

    Getting ready for another adventure!

Saw in an online news clip yesterday the NC Governor said Helene wiped out 1,200 roads in western part of the state. Repairs have been made to many but there are still 500 not open. No mention of BRP.

Rear axle nut cover fell off - doesn't 'snap' on! Anyone lost one?

I did this on the front covers of my RT-S very early in my life with my Spyder after reading on SL of someone who lost a front wheel cover. They're both still on as I close on 90K miles.

Should I buy new? Or keep the old 2014 RT Spyder?

I have far fewer farkles on mine with 250 shy of 90K miles and it has run like a finely tuned Swiss watch. No way in hell I'd think of getting rid of it.

Where to get engine oil analyzed...

I believe someone BSed you. An online search where I live lists 27 Napa Stores w/in 50 miles where I can pick up one today, including the closest one to me only five miles away. Verified by phone they still sell and have in stock. Maybe it's a left coast Greenie thing.

Where to get engine oil analyzed...

A dealership couldn't afford the labor cost or the equipment for the little use they/it would get.

Where to get engine oil analyzed...

I purchase my oil analysis kits (WIX) from Napa online, product no. FIL 4077, $21.99, including analysis charge. ALS Tribology in Norcross, GA does the analysis. Have ben using them for years and am well satisfied. Slowest part is snail mail to GA.

Warranty Question - Would you let a regular M/cycle shop fit a rear tire?

Spyder pricing (looking for my first) - which do you think is the better deal?

Numbers don't lie; dealerships do. When I bought my RT 10 years ago this month, I intentionally bought at the end of the MY because I'm not a bloke who has to trade every year or two so I didn't give a rat's rump about drive off the lot depreciation. I test rode a 2014 RT-S, my intended...
