• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Installation of car tire.

As to doing your own front end alignment, it's probably better to have the BUD's software. Some folks have done self alignment with good results without it, but if you find a problem you need to re-center the steering and something else I don't remember. Thrust? Someone will chime in I'm sure.

    LED Headlights.

I can only speculate as I think there are smarter people than me who have already thought through this. My 2018 RTL just got LED's (Yes, the expensive ones) and there are a couple of hurdles to overcome. The headlights were listed as 9005's, the fog lamps were listed as H9's. For the LED...

    Tire changers

I'm not financially wealthy enough to buy an automated changer so I made do with what was available. After much research I bought the Cycle Hill HD. It is the lowest priced one they had. All of them have flaws, but I've read you have to really re-engineer the Harbor Freight one. On the Cycle...

    Where has my coolant gone?

:agree: One of my original problems was my Spyder new was turned over to me with low coolant. Remember, a lot of setup guys are not paid well and are the low man in the chain, so their give a hoot may also be low. Another thing wrong with my brand new Spyder was the rear shock absorber was...

    Where has my coolant gone?

Mine turned out to be a failing water pump, but it left evidence in the form or reddish drops all over one of the mesh panels and inside on the engine/frame on that side, along with a coolant smell. If you don't have any of that, and haven't checked the level regularly, I would suspect it going...

    Playing music from GPS

One caveat I found about my Zumo 595 is that it seems to only recognize MP3 files, which reduced my available music significantly. Unless the software has been updated it won't support AAC or WAV files.

Any one Cancelled there order yet?

I surf the What's New section exclusively. You wouldn't believe how many miscommunications I've had because I've failed to see what forum it's actually in. Sorry 'bout that.

Doing away with DESS using BUDS Megatech

SpyderAnn01, Seems like you've thought about this some, so where are the alternate sources for this product? I always prefer to support the American businesses.

Doing away with DESS using BUDS Megatech

Nice. I've been thinking about getting this software package. Did you get the 2 additional modules ( BRP 4-TEC Desspost unit, BRP Power Interface unit) or just the kit?

    Installation of car tire.

It must be us, the Spyder riding community. Apparently the dealerships think we're all stupid. I know you're in a different country, therefore have different laws, but I would forego any service at this dealership. Once a dealership tried to blow smoke up my rear I tend not to forgive them...

    2019 CanAm RT LTD Problem?

There was a known problem with the 2018 model RTL's with the left switchpack, which is a self contained non maintenance item. A quality control issue I suspect. Mine manifested with a parking brake issue, but I have read accounts of shifting problems emanating from the shift paddle. Pretty...

I need more info to set Belt Tension - anyone help?

:agree: It is my belief that the sweet spot where you lose the maximum amount of belt vibration has a lot more factors than just belt tension. Belt alignment, where it runs on the pulley may also factor in. Tire pressure and wheel alignment (as it pertains to the rear wheel). Weight of the...

https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?124314-Sonic-Tension-Question&referrerid=34189 I got into the whole sonic tension thing, found out it is not worth the time. They took a relatively simple thing and made it complex. The Krikit II is simple and repeatable. One thing I will...

    Battery recommendations

I used a Deka, made in Pennsylvania where Yuasa is made. It has a 1 year warranty. My Yuasa had a dead cell after the warranty period had expired, 10 months to be exact. If the Deka gives me good service, I expect that's the one I'll stick with. Cheaper and local too.

    Battery recommendations

There were a few failures on new Yuasa batteries in the later year Spyders. If found out that the Can Am group only warranties factory supplied batteries 6 months, when you can get a year off of almost any battery purchased from an alternate source.
