• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to get a Garmin Zumo XT speaking through the speakers on a Spyder RT 2020+?

I used a short USB cable to power it, wrapped the whole thing in clear packing tape, and shoved it into the bottom of the glove box. Fancier could be done, but now that I have a working solution (another board that I tried had the same problem as you had with Bluetooth channels) it becomes very...

How to get a Garmin Zumo XT speaking through the speakers on a Spyder RT 2020+?

    I'm using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D94PGCG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with our Garmin 396.

    2020 RT limited sound system

I put an old Android phone in my trunk hooked to the USB there for powering. Its Bluetooth connects to the 2021 RTL WITHOUT BRP Connect and allows forward/back and volume control. I have the player on the phone set up to plat by alphabetical order, which is pretty random. I gets the MP3s from a...

    Motor started running poor

If you use a gas additive, MAKE SURE you follow the manufacture's instructions. Over-dosing additives can be as bad or worse than bad gas.

    Share your mouse repellent ideas

I put a plastic bait box with a small poison block in it in my GL1800 trunk over a decade ago. It is in the Spyder trunk now. No rodent problems since, but the bikes are parked in out heated basement with other (sticky traps, D-con wedges, Black Cat blocks, snap traps) around under things...

    Freight and Handling charges!

If it is a dealership that is not moving many bikes, find out true MSRP (profit is built-in), decide what you think is right, offer it, and if not agreed to leave your number and walk. This will sometimes evenwork with larger dealerships. They must have cash flow.

    Spyder RT Rentals - Where?

The secret to getting my wife to enjoy riding with me on the motorcycle turned out the same as getting her happy on the Spyder. Teach her her role. Yes, leaning on the Spyder helps stabilize the bike. Avoud letting the curves "flop" you around. Let her try different ways to mount. A member on...

Yes, it folds forward. And removes by pulling up fairly easily.

Need to get over Fear of Leaving my Spyder in Hotel Parking Lots Unattended O/night

Had an alarm with remote on the '06 GL1800. Open-pipe HDs set it off too easy. Only time it was really usefull was in Walmart parking lots where snot-nosed brats tended to climb on it. The alarm ran them off and POed the parents (which I enjoyed). This year at Barber Vintage Weekend, we stayed...

Spyder RT-Ltd Tupperware - upper panel fixed peg broken?

The ABS can be glued to a fairly strong joint with ABS plumbing cement and GP plumbing cleaner. I buy my cement on Amazon and get pretty fresh stuff. If you need to make up parts, wreck take-offs from your local motorcycle service shop can be carved into what you need.

Any reviews on After market trailer hitches?

I'll have to take some. Was pretty easy (well, I did work up a sweat with the hack saw) just whacking the horizontal bar right after the square vertical tube, boring a hole the same size as the hitch ball hole (I used a metal cutting hole saw in my mini mill), drop a bolt through and a nut &...

    2021 Windscreen Glare

I see the same on our '21 RTL. Learning to just live with it right now, but considering a rough black leather covering (from scrap bin at Muddy Pond leather shop) if it becomes an issue.

Do 2020 and newer models handle rough roads better?

I do suggest that you learn not to "stiff arm" the bars - relax your grip and bend your elbows. Some roads present no issues at all. However, those that are worn on the outer 1/3rd from poor maintenance, cheap construction, or over-weight traffic will still buck you around a little more than a...

BATTERY TENDER CABLE ROUTING (outside of the frunk)? 2020 RTL

I have mine on a relay switched power plate. The tender connection is only live with the key OFF, so I don't accidentally poof another tender. Other pkrts on the plate are live with key ON (like my heated gear). Wiring led back from the frunk, under the tupperware to the left side cover that can...

Winter Storage - any problems if I remove the battery?

Rodent control (poison) companies make small plastic boxes to hold bait blocks. I've kept one in the trunk of our GL1800 and now the RTL. Ever since doing so, no evidence of mice in the bike. However, I've found the only effective control of chipmonks (ground squirrels) has been a 1/2-water...
