• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New product for a little security - Jump Starter/Air Compressor combo

I see so many people say that you are "taking a chance" and "spending money on a jump starter, when you could just buy a new battery". I don't think they get the point. This is just an additional bit of security, like having a spare tire in a car. If i have a battery that is doing well, I am...

What Forms are needed - Obtaining a Replacement/Lost title?

I already tried my local DMV. They are pretty much useless. They say that since it was last registered in California, they would have to issue the replacement title. I have contacted some online, but most have a $120-$200 fee, and I am not 100% sure they would be able to get me what we need...

What Forms are needed - Obtaining a Replacement/Lost title?

I purchased a Can Am Trailer from a lady that currently lives in NC. The trailer was registered in California (where she used to live) to her late husband. She has lost the title and therefore must apply for a lost title. I have been having a hard time helping her go about doing this in NC...

New product for a little security - Jump Starter/Air Compressor combo

I did:D. If I was going on a long trip, yes I would replace it. And if I am out and it fails to crank, I will be buying a new one as soon as I get home. But as of now, I will not be buying a new battery just because of age. The one in my 2002 ford lightning lasted 11 years. And this is after...

New product for a little security - Jump Starter/Air Compressor combo

I took advantage of the Amazon Days and had my daughter order me a jump starter, air compressor combo. It also has a light, strobe light, and charging ports. It is a little larger than I thought, but still not bad (about 9"x6"x5" container). It was about 67% off, costing about $87...

Was this a Fuel Indicator Reserve Notification?

I agree Peter Aawen, the gas gauges on most of these things are not accurate, but I have been pretty lucky, up until this one (even my 2012 RSS was better than this one). But like you, I reset my trip meter at each fill up, unless I am going on a multi day trip and need it to keep track of the...

Upgraded from 2016 to 2023 F3, need to upgrade seat - recommendations?

The 2016 F3 Limited did not have a trunk, therefore the rear seat might be made differently from a later year that actually came with a trunk. But this is just my guess.

Was this a Fuel Indicator Reserve Notification?

I understand what you are saying, and i know the bikes should not be run too low. But of the 6 spyders that I have owned, this gas gauge is definilty the most inaccurate. On all the other bikes, if they are run until the gas light comes on, they will hold right at 6 gallons (that is for the 2...

    What is a VSS fault?

My buddies wife's 2022 F3S does the same thing when he first cranks it. It is mainly due to a slow start, but after a ride it is all better. My 2016 F3L special series has started to do it if not ridden at least once per week. But I still have the original battery, so I am expecting to have...

Is Changing the rear sprocket possible?

I wonder if you could swap out the ECU and sprocket from a 89 tooth bike to one with 79? If the computer is swapped, I would think it would work. Probably not, but just something my feeble mind was thinking about. I am just thankful that I do still have one with the 89 tooth (2016 F3L Special...

Was this a Fuel Indicator Reserve Notification?

This 2021 RTL is the first one of the 6 that I have owned with a "distance to empty" warning. And I will say that this gas gauge is the most inaccurate of them all. I have had my number of miles to go get below 25 and go to the 3 lines. After traveling another 8 miles or so, the bike only...

    2023 Maggie Vally Spyder Adventures

I agree 100%. I had 28k on my 2016 F3T before I sold it, and they still had some wear left. I told my buddy he should ask to see the pads that they removed, but he didn't remember until we had left. But if he feels good about the deal, that is all that was important. As for me, I have to see...

    2023 Maggie Vally Spyder Adventures

I had a wonderful time, as always at the Spyder Rally in Maggie Valley 10/4-8. The weather was nearly perfect. I led 6 Spyders from the Raleigh, NC area. The only hiccup that we had was when we got a limp mode and 3 error codes on my buddies 2020 RTL. We pulled up the locator and saw that the...

RT Base, pump-up suspension, how often?

I would take it in to the dealership and have it checked while it is still under warranty. I had the manual type on my 2016 F3T and it had a leak. I caught it just before the extended warranty gave out and it was covered. It should not leak down too quickly, but mine got so bad that it would...

2 wheeler sayings don't apply to Rykers - we need 3 wheeler sayings!

I see it, we all are taking a chance. But I do feel safer and dress differently when on 2 wheels vs 3. I have ridden the spyder with shorts on very short rides, like 2-3 miles to the store on a hot day. On the 2 wheeler, I would NEVER ride with shorts. I also always were at least a mesh...

If you want a cat delete, Monster tune, etc better buy it now

There is actually a "stop sale" order on some of the BMW motorcycles. This is said to be due to emission issues. They bikes are fine, but someone is starting stuff. Surprisingly the BMW that I own (K1600B) is one of the cleanest and smoothest running motorcycles that I have ever owned.

Your Weather News @ October 2023 Edition

Heading to Maggie Valley for the spyder rally on Wednesday (10/4). Temps should be perfect. Mid to low 70's for the afternoons, and mid to upper 40's in the mornings. Suposed to drop to upper 50's for hights in the afternoon and mid 30's in the mornings for the weekend. But with dressing in...

    Check that tire pressure!

Gave my 2021 RTL a good once over before getting ready for the spyder rally in Maggie Valley next week. Checking the tire pressure can be a chore, but it is worth it. My fronts had 12 and 13 pounds in each. The rear only had around 18. Got that corrected and now I am ready to ride. Hope to...

Why buy an F3 rather than an RT?

It is all up to the individuals personal taste. I have a F3 and a 2021 RTL. I do not need the rear trunk for luggage, but it is great for when the wife rides. Keep in mind that the ride and level of comfort is very different on the 2010-2019 RT vs the 2020+ RT.

Is the Cherohala Skyway open yet? (Sept '23) Temp or Finished? Any gravel?

That is perfect timing for seeing the leaf color changes in about 2-3 weeks. We will be there next week for the spyder rally in Maggie Valley. I just wish the road that leads to the falls was back open. I hear it will be closed while the repave and install a new bridge.
