• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?

10,700 on original tires. Fronts are still good tread, but I'll replace soon due to age. Rear is slick as an onion. I have a new Kumho Ecsta AST for the rear. Waiting to get a video of a long smokey burnout before I install.🤣

Ramp for rear wheel to make adding air easier

I don't see where a ramp would be particularly helpful. You'd have to predict where the tire valve would end up. A low profile floor jack under the frame is easy and cheap.

    Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to everyone. BTW, the Christmas bells are cool.

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

Does anyone have experience with connecting BUDS to a tuned ECU? Is it necessary to flash the ECU back to stock before connecting BUDS, or would BUDS simply modify the tuned profile and reflash it to the ECU?

What Camper Trailer options are there for Spyder's - RT &/or F3?

While I have no doubt one could pull a bit more than the rated 400# safely, there's no way I'd even consider towing over 500#. Tow ratings have a safety factor built in, but 20% is about all I'd consider trying. Even then, in the event of an accident, being overloaded could cause you some...

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

I got to try out the PV4 yesterday. I did have a misunderstanding that Autotune was available, but after a conversation with the vendor, it turns out that only Harley ECU's can run the Autotune feature. I'm a bit disappointed in this, but buying from Fuel Moto includes their tuning support now...

Baldwin Ironworks Cat Delete vs Lamonster's - preferences/recommendations?

Thanks Ron. I'm glad I explained that in a way that makes sense. I do have to disagree about Diesel tuning being "easy" Yes, there is a lot more headroom to "turn up" the output on a diesel, but if done improperly one can quickly cause severe engine damage. A lot of early diesel tuners...

Baldwin Ironworks Cat Delete vs Lamonster's - preferences/recommendations?

2Dogs is right. I find that when drilling out rivets, if one wants to spin, I tilt the drill just a few degrees and that will allow the bit to cut away the head. Just be very careful not to tilt too much and let the bit slip and walk across the surface.

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

Went for a ride today. My speedo adjustment made a difference, it's now off 1-2mph from 2-3mph before. I went from 1868 to 1000. Next I'll try 0 and see where that gets me. The TCS off mode made no difference. I tried several button sequences trying to activate it, but no luck yet. I...

Anyone have Dynojet Power Vision results for comparison?

I have a PV4 on order from Fuel Moto. Hopefully, I'll have a few good days to test this winter, but most of my tuning will probably come next spring. I'll post my impressions when I get to try it out.

Baldwin Ironworks Cat Delete vs Lamonster's - preferences/recommendations?

Brake horsepower simply refers to the method of determining power. It can be measured at the engine, transmission, hub or wheel. Most dyno's use some form of brake, usually a water or eddy current brake, to absorb power and provide resistance to rotation. Torque is measured by a strain gauge on...

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

I doubt he did all that with BUDS. Sounds like he had a custom tune on it, and not a very good one if it was showing warnings on the dash. I have a DynoJet PV4 tuner on order from Fuel Moto. I plan to start with one of their canned tunes, log some data and tweak things from there.

I don't care for the new look. The colors and bright look are a bit hard on the eyes.

This is what Happens when you Run with No Coolant!

I cannot fathom how anyone can be so brain-numb that they don't notice that much fluid leaking from their vehicle, or how they can continue to drive when a gauge is obviously out of range. She turned what was likely a cheap and simple repair into major engine damage.

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

I received a new MPI from the vendor today. It finally connects to my bike. 👏 I saved the original configuration, and played around with some of the diagnostic features. I took a shot at calibrating my optimistic speedometer, and I also calibrated the steering angle and torque sensors, since I...

Anyone done a Cat Delete leaving stock muffler on?

I installed the pipe from eBay without the very restrictive baffle. My F3 has the stock short muffler. The sound is noticeably louder, but not obnoxious, and I notice less heat when stopped at a traffic light. Also a significant weight reduction. The motor is also quicker to rev, and doesn't...

Has anyone tried Different Batteries, like a NOCO 600A Lithium? How is it working?

I've had great service from Odyssey batteries. The first one, a PC-1200 in my Cobra, lasted over 10 years. I have a smaller one, I think the PC680, in my 427 stroker LS powered RX-7. About 8 years on that one so far. Of course, these stay on Battery Minders when not in use. I just picked up 6...

    Test Drove A Goldwing Trike

Sounds like that thing may have had a locked rear axle. The old 3-wheel ATC's were like that. You had to shift your weight outwards when making a slow speed turn. An open differential should allow them to corner normally, allowing of course for the inherent instability of the design.

Does Your Horn Sound Off Without Turing On The Ignition?

IIRC, the horn on my 1984 Yamaha RZ-350 does not work with the key off, and it has no hazard light function at all. Also, I don't think any of my other previous bikes had that function. My 2015 F3S does. I jumped the first time I bumped the horn button when working on it. ;)
