• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Buying used - 2015 Spyder F3-S - is this milage/usage a concern?

I bought my 2015 F3S in Oct. 2024. I found it on FB Marketplace for $8k. It had 9700 miles, near perfect condition, and ran fine on the test drive. Also had documentation of the front pulley recall being done, a nice F4 windshield and BRP removable backrest, and a newer AGM battery that had...

Ordered the Clutch assist kit from BRP

Thanks Peter, that was my thought as well, which is why I continued that thread. Even though some of the original participants may not be around, perhaps there are others who have either done this mod, or may be thinking about it.

Ordered the Clutch assist kit from BRP

Any time the throttle is closed vacuum is strong. There isn't a harness for the solenoid to plug into, or is there an existing connector in the original harness?

Engine smoking and burning lots of oil - anyone pulled an engine?

Thanks for that bit of info. I'll have to check that out. If the output is available to control the solenoid, I'll have to look into that. A lighter clutch lever would make it more enjoyable to ride. (y)

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

That's not how I read RTFM. LOL This is common on EFI vehicles. Try it on your car sometime. My 2015 does not light the oil light before cranking. That concerned me at first, and I still don't like it, but it seems to be normal for these bikes. I added an oil pressure gauge anyway.

2015 F3S Oil Pump Failure, replaced, engine still ticking - any ideas on what component/s might have been damaged?

I disagree with that judge. The "Check Engine" light is not an indication of catastrophic failure like the low oil pressure or high temp light is. Check Engine usually means something related to emissions has a problem, and isn't necessarily a reason to stop driving immediately, especially if...

2015 F3S Oil Pump Failure, replaced, engine still ticking - any ideas on what component/s might have been damaged?

Driving that far without oil pressure most certainly damaged the top end, as well as the bottom. A short block is a motor without heads. He needs a long block or a complete motor.

Engine smoking and burning lots of oil - anyone pulled an engine?

On a related note, has anyone tested the clutch lever pull with the engine not running, vs running? My clutch lever is pretty stiff compared to most bikes I've owned. Last time I took it out, I pulled in the clutch several times with the engine off, and couldn't tell any difference with the...

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

Actually, the 1330 DOES have hydraulic valve lash adjusters. Not lifters, technically, but they serve the same purpose. If the bike has high mileage, it is likely the chain. Unless it's severe or continues when running, it likely won't hurt anything.

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

Not sure I want to be selecting tire size based on speedo accuracy. BUDS allows easy adjustment. Interestingly, changing the speedo correction setting from the factory value to zero, changed my speedo from 5% high to around 1% high, with the worn out original tire. When I install my new tire...

Did oil change & checked level properly; NO oil showing on dip stick - any ideas?

I know this isn't "by the book", but I changed my own oil, adding the correct amount per the manual, so I know it's correct. Using the paper towel method, I verified that the hot oil level is just over halfway between the add and full bulbs on the dipstick. Now, every tank or two of gas, I start...

Looking for Battery recommendations & sources to order from?

I've had a MotoBatt in my ATV for several years. It's been good so far. I have Odyssey batteries in two of my cars. They're pricey, but their among the best AGM batteries available.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I use an app called Faststone Photo Resizer. It compacts image files in bulk, and works quite well.

Daylight Saving Time - Make sure to adjust your Spyder clocks - Spring Ahead!

The clock on mine is so inaccurate that I just started ignoring it. We had watches 30 years ago that would keep time within a couple minutes a year. You'd think BRP could build in a clock that would do better than a minute a week. 🙄
