• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT windscreens

We put a California Scientific on our 2018 RTD. It doesn't have a flip which if you have a passenger you do not want. I have found the curve actually causes more buffeting for the passenger.

Dealer in Virginia area with lots of Spyders + how do you get on your Spyder?

If getting on the Spyder using the foot peg isn't strong enough to support even a 400 lb person I would be scared. I get on and off my BMW R1200RT stepping on the peg and throwing my leg over just like you. Same with the wife's RTL.

    BRP saddlebag liners vs Hopnel's

We bought the Bestem brand. Very nice fit and quality. Buy direct from their website vs. Amazon and save a few bucks.

Are there really THAT many differences between the Spyder and two wheels?

Yes, both bikes use the starter. The one thing my wife likes about the reverse in the Spyder is how fast it goes vs. the snails pace of the GW. ( I owned both too)

    Foam Grips

I have been using foam grips for a long time. They don't stay wet very long and your gloves aren't going to get water logged. As far as a heated grip, they make no difference in the effectiveness of the heater.

    Foam Grips

Most people put them on with dish soap and a lot of pushing. Use an air hose with a blast nozzle and they go on in less than 10 seconds.

Transition from 2 wheels to 3

My wife made the switch to a 2018 RTL last August. She had about 150,000 miles on two wheels in 9 years. It took here about 1,000 miles to get used to the Spyder. I added the Baja Ron sway bar and bump skid. I ride the Spyder occasionally and haven't had any issues riding it. Just have a "can...

    Luggage

We didn't get luggage with the 2018 RTL. Bought Bestem https://www.bestemusa.com/CAN-AM_c_1766.html I have a set for my BMW R1200 RT also. Very good quality and priced pretty good too.

    Helmet Housekeeping

Consider a wicking skull cap or dew rag. That will extend your times on having a smelly helmet.

    Belt vibration

Thank you for the information. I am getting the oil changed today so I will have the dealer reset the belt tension. If they won't I will do it myself.

    Belt vibration

I recently had the dealer change rear tire to the Kuhmo. After about 1,000 miles, when I ride there is a significant vibration that occurs when I am under load like going up a hill. Is the belt tension wrong?

    Sore butt and medication?

A sore butt in one thing. A sore tailbone is another. 1st of all determine which it is. If it is a tailbone, then you really need to have the foam trimmed in the seat to stop a pressure point.

    Can-Am 25" Adjustable Vented Windshield Good for a Tall person? (6'4 )

    Centramatic Worth it?

I can't argue with you on a car tire setup like the Spyder has. On a motorcycle tire, they made a lot of difference.

    Centramatic Worth it?

I cannot speak of the benefits on the Spyder but I can speak on them for a Goldwing, Victory Cross Roads and Victory Vision. The thing I found on a two wheel motorcycle was the extended tire longevity. They added between 20 - 25% of mileage to a set of tires. They also smoothed out the ride as...

    Dainese Airbag Jacket

I like the fact that it doesn't have a tether like other air bag safety gear.

How much $$ to change rear tire (2010 RT-S SE5)

I took a car tire in and had the dealer pull the tire off the bike and change it. He quoted $110.00 and ended up charging $90. It took the tech less than an hour to change out the tire.

    Gel inserts

The gel pad I had was also medical grade. It also had a layer of foam over the top. It still absorbed heat. Check out Bitchn Stichn in Lakewood CO. That is the installer. Is there a difference?
