• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cone size for a front tire balance

I agree that the older we get the easier it is to hire things done. I had to do that when I was working all the time. Now if it takes me all day to tinker around, I am OK with that. ;)

Cone size for a front tire balance

Thanks for the heads up. That looks like a great solution for the Spyder. I actually sent an email earlier today to see whether or not the Spyder cones will indeed work with my Super Tenere. If it does, then I have a winner.

Cone size for a front tire balance

There are times when it is not the most convenient way to have a tire changed and balanced. I have other motorcycles that I change tires on too. Being retired with a shop full of tools makes for something to do at home while saving money over the long run.

Cone size for a front tire balance

I have been searching for a manual tire balancer for the front wheels on our 2020 RTL. Does anyone know the cone size needed to make one work properly?

    Helmet Advice

A good place to start would be https://www.webbikeworld.com They have reviewed a bunch of helmets and also have a guide to head shape. Cheap doesn't always mean low quality but it does equate to how much noise they produce in the wind. If you plan to wear earplugs, then it isn't much of an...

2020+ RT knee area padding recommendations?

Look at the snakeskin product. Not sure if they make anything specifically for the Spyder, But it I think what you are looking for.

    Big Thanks to Lamont

The mirror fix kit for the 2020 RT that Lamont came up with is awesome. In his video he keeps saying it is something that anyone can do. Since he came up with the idea, I think people need to buy it from Lamonster. Give credit where credit is due.

Tally Thread: I purchased a new 2020 RT.

Wife bought a 2020 RTL the end of May. She now has 8,200 miles on it.

How many miles are too many to buy a Spyder?

Miles shouldn't be the issue. A 2010 with 5K miles or a 2010 with 100K miles, I would take the higher mileage. If you have ever purchased an older car that got just a thousand miles a year on it, you would see the problems of a vehicle that sits a lot. Without proper maintenance (because it...

Russell Day long or Ultimate Seat

I borrowed an Ultimate seat for a week on a Victory Cross Country. We took a 350 miles ride to run it through the paces. It was comfortable for about the 1st half of the ride and then the foam bottomed out to the seat pan. I now have a RDL on my BMW R 1200 RT for the past 25K miles. It has a...

    Spyder vs Goldwing passenger seating

Something else to consider between GW and a Spyder RT. Wind management for the passenger. I have ridden on the back of both a GW and a Spyder RT and the difference in buffeting is night and day difference. So happy wife, happy life.

    2020 Spyder RT Petrol Blue

Don't forget the sparkly metal flakes. My wife rides one and it changes color with the light. Very pretty.

    Sheep skin seat cover opinions

We just got back from a 2,000 mile ride to GA. My wife tried my long hair sheep skin and it made a significant difference keeping her dry. She is considering buying a short nap one from Alaska Leathers. Another option is beads. The porblem is finding the correct size for the seat though.

I have a sheep skin that I use in cooler weather. I may try it in hot weather to see if it works.

    Bluetooth Ready

Usually it means that the helmet is pre wired for a specific bluetooth unit. I wear a Schberth C4 and it has a plug and play bluetooth system available. Speakers are already install so you don't have to tear the helmet apart.

Buying a Spyder, the good, the bad, & the ugly!

My wife just traded her 2018 RTD for a 2020 RTD. She put 22,000 miles on in 21 months (including 6 months or winter) We had no issues with the bike. We installed a Baja Ron bar but otherwise stock. There are after market seats available. You may or may not need one. I am a big fan of Russell Day...

    Anybody use seat beads

Thanks for the input. Comfort isn't the issue. I have tried the Airhawk seat pad many times on long trips. It just doesn't work for me. I am looking at the ability to keep the backside cooler.
