• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Zealand's TT2000 in 2022

    Nice mix of riding! Sounds like a nice mix of climates you have to enjoy riding in. Ride On! Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood

    Rear tire balancing? How crucial?

    ~~~i wont be buying tires anytime soon but when i do it will be the VREDSTEINS on all three corners. Just checked my odometer yesterday as i rode my Spyder into Ocala. Only 1800 miles since i bought the RT early August last year. To say i ride infrequently is an understatement. This darn farm I...
    What is your Ryker's name ?
    ~~~hey Peter!, are you still subscribed to this post?!? I was looking at old posts i made in the Ryker forum and saw where you commented on the venerable<LOL> Yamaha XS650. I bought one new in 1976. My first new bike in fact. I recall having trouble with the electrical system, and once when I...

    Rear tire balancing? How crucial?

    ~~~ thanks Mike! The reason I ask, thought I read (here on this forum, somewhere) that the Altimax’s rear tire that some run tends to be a higher mileage tire (harder compound vs. the softer Vredstein which is a snow tire), which lead me to wonder if many actually run the Vredstein in the back...
    Rear tire balancing? How crucial?
    Understood the Vredsteins are the preferred front tire replacements. How about the rear? Using Vredstein out back too? TIA! Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood 🙃
    Anyone go from an RT to a Ryker?
    ~~~just curious, is your Spyder OEM or have you modified the suspension, tires? What about Baja Ron’s bar, have installed his bar or no? TIA Best, Jake Reddick Fla. Even a blind squirrel 🐿 finds a nut every once in a while

    Anyone go from an RT to a Ryker?

    ~~~If your Spyder is twitchy its not the fault of the Spyder design, the problem is in your Spyder’s alignment, or lack thereof Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood
    Rear tire balancing? How crucial?
    Wanted to comment on what Peter said about replacing the wheel bearings. Again, Peter said if the bearings wont spin freely, replace. All well and good but a bit more precisely, when you place your hand, fingers onto the wheel bearing race and you turn it, you should feel absolutely no...
    Anyone go from an RT to a Ryker?
    The Ryker in stock form is no good for LD work. That said, if you can ride it the way it was meant to be ridden, its a total blast. At least it was a for me. I rode my Ryker once down to the Fla. Keys. It wasn’t a lot of fun on the interstate It needed cruise control, wind protection, but that...
    Anyone go from an RT to a Ryker?
    ~~~if i understand what you’re saying, you don't trust yourself to keep from adding numerous (read useless ) farkles if you dumped your RT & bought a Ryker Everyone is different. There’s plenty that did just that (adding crap like ornaments on a X-Mass tree). I left my 2020 Ryker Rally bone...

    Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

    ~~~looks like a nice kit. Now, if i could only convince my wife i need some time to get away from it all=:-) Best, Jake Reddick Fla. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while
    what improvements were made to 2020 RT Limited in the 2021 and 2022 years?
    ~~~as an owner of a 2021 RTL purchased new (Yep!, I’m the 1st owner) early August 2021 w/only 1600 miles on the odometer, I feel fortunate that I have none of these issues (front pulley whistle, mirror post vibration). So far, its been a great ride. I’d like to thank the entire Can Am team for...

    Tire Pressure Science

    ~~~IIRC the tires on the 2019 Ryker Rally were identical on the 2020 Ryker Rally I rode and owned (since traded in on a 21’ Spyder RTL). I’m curious if the question you pose here has anything to do with the Ryker Rally or, the front tires used on Spyders, which seems to be the general dogma...
    Too cold for me and my Spyder
    ~~~I don’t know about what’s cold (bone chilling) in NOLA or other part of south loosy Ann but, it got down to 29 degrees Fehrenheit in Reddick Fla. yesterday morning and I’m here to tell you, that’s cold 🥶 for these parts. We haven’t used the wood stoves until yesterday morning but I had to...

    Too cold for me and my Spyder

    It’s cold here in north central Fla. How cold? Well, I remembered I left a 12 pack of Yuengling lager in my Spyder’s left pannier so I just walked to the barn to fetch a couple cans to drink before I retire for the evening (yeah I know it’s morning, that’s when I go to bed=:-). I had an idea...

    Will these 155/60R15 Vredestein's be too narrow for RT?

    ~~~ the only demos ive done on Spyders (& Rykers) have been in Fla. in regards to doing your own tire work, i have a bad back too, with the same vertebrae problems (L4, L5). When my back gets really bad, I can’t do any work period but I dont find it necessary to twist my back when R&Ring tires...
