• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where can I get #5 brake and shifter rods? BRP Not in Stock!

I purchased an aftermarket brake connecting rod because I wanted a slightly different length. The reason is to lower the height of the brake pedal a bit. It makes it much easier to move my foot to the brake pedal (and faster too) since I no longer have to lift my whole leg to get my foot on the...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I didn't like the"road-runner" beep-beep horn on my Spyder. So I purchased a dual horn set (~$15 at geek dot com). The dual horn set I had purchased claimed to be 300 dB. But anyone familiar with sound knows that claim would be BS and, if accurate, would damage your hearing. But regardless, it...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

The dual horn set I had purchased claimed to be 300 dB. But anyone familiar with sound knows that claim is BS. But, regardless, it is plenty loud. I ordered a FARBIN Horn Wiring Harness Relay Kit off Amazon for about $10. It simply uses the standard horn wires to activate a relay that feeds...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I have as set of horns to install. You suggested a relay? Is there inadequate power to operate a set of standard-type horns? Or are you suggesting that the Spyder horn wire needs to activate a relay that gets its power from a separate 12v source (e.g. accessory line or battery direct)?

    Anyone experimented with Windshield extensions?

Look forward to your results. I am 6'3" so I added one (sorry about the low quality picture inside my garage) with low expectations. My intent was a cheap (~$20) way to determine if a higher windshield would help. But it far exceeded my expectations and I am quite pleased with the results.

    Was it a flip of a coin - Heads it's Torx/Tails it's Hex?

I agree. They are great for self tapping screws. My confusion is - that why not use all torx (or Hex) on the Spyder. Why some of each???

A front wheel WILL come off the ground (I found out this weekend)

Sounds the same as my (our) experience. I just instinctively backed of the throttle immediately and it came back down. There was no interference from the nanny. Apparently because it was quick, no brake, and no significant slowing of the lifted wheel. But I was looking at the dash and wondering...

A front wheel WILL come off the ground (I found out this weekend)

I was sort of shooting a gap to make a left turn at an intersection. We were probably going only ~10 mph (I'd guess). I was in a low gear, made a sharp left as I hit the throttle. The front left wheel came off the ground. :lecturef_smilie: I hadn't experienced this before. I quickly backed off...

    Was it a flip of a coin - Heads it's Torx/Tails it's Hex?

I have to wonder, when ever a bolt was needed in the design of the Can-Am Spyder, did someone there flip a coin .... heads it's Torx / tails its Hex ?

What's the best belt tensioner? What are you using?

I appreciate all the information (discussion, experience, and opinions) regarding belt tensioners. I was getting the belt vibrations and could hear it fairly strong at around 65-70mph. (Not "Good Vibrations" leave that to the Beach Boys :ohyea: ) It seemed to make sense to me that changing the...

2023 rumors - anyone heard anything about the 2023 release?

A BRP EV will likely be powered on electricity from Coal or Nuclear power plants. :ohyea:

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

I finally got around to checking mileage yesterday. On a 160 mile ride, 2-up using 93 octane, we used 4.54 gallons. So that comes out to 35.24 mpg. This was combined roads. Some 65mph interstate, but mostly 2-lane back roads and going through a number of little towns with far too many stoplights.

Considering a tall windshield. Any suggestions?

Considering a higher windshield. So I added this little $20 extender thing to see if it reduced the "head buffeting". The answer is yes it does. So now perhaps I should consider a new taller windshield replacement. It would need to be about at 28" (current one is 25"). I don't seem to find 28"...

Anyone Replaced the standard F3 L seat? Tried Diamond seats?

Installed new Diamond Custom Seat I just installed my new seats from Diamond and took a several hour ride today. This feels much better with the stiffer foam adjusted for my weight. I liked the style with the diamond pattern strip just down the center of the seats. These come with a new...

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

Yikes, I had now idea I could instigate such a long discussion when asking about the in-dash air temperature sensor!! As Mikey said .... RIDE ON !

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

Sound like a likely scenario. I liked the temperature display on my Goldwing which seemed to be fairly accurate. Oh well ... now I know.

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

Thanks for the info. My MPH is quite close to both GPS speed and the "Your speed is" radar indicators on the side of the road. Usually of by only 1 mph. Not sure why BRP thinks I want to know the temperature detected under the "Tupperware on top of the engine". But ... OK ... now I know what it...

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

I've noticed that the in-dash air temperature sensor seems to be consistently 2-5 degrees above the ambient air temperature. I was wondering if there is a way to calibrate this sensor and if other persons have noticed this difference? It could be different for each bike. Having messed with...

Anyone Replaced the standard F3 L seat? Tried Diamond seats?

I just ordered the custom seat from Diamond Custom Seats. They provide a new fiberglass seat base instead of the factory plastic one. They say it's a better base, plus I don't have to send in my seat. They use weight, height, inseam for both rider and passenger to select foam rigidity and...

Anyone Replaced the standard F3 L seat? Tried Diamond seats?

Those both look like good sources for enhancing seat comfort. The kicker is having to send in your seat. But to get a good comfortable ride it may be worth it.
