• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealer says Car tires damage fenders - does this make sense???

I suppose dealers come in all shapes and sizes, just like people  But so far my dealer seems very good (compared with some of the others people have talked about). (y)

Dealer says Car tires damage fenders - does this make sense???

Thanks Peter. I don't doubt what you are saying. But since they say "Motorcycle Tire" on the side, have a rotation direction indicator, and fit, a shop can't complain about you putting on a car tire or improper size. As far as "to be able to lean" well that would not seem to be a...

Dealer says Car tires damage fenders - does this make sense???

I recently damaged a front tire and rim when we hit a road hazard (rock). I found a lot of car tires that are about the same size. But I had to look for a while to find some that are the same size as the originals. Since some people reported fender issues on some tires, I looked around and...

Do you use Color Correct O-rings?

Likewise, they have all been black. I have to carefully lay them out in sequence to make sure I get those two rings that are very similar into the correct place.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

That probably made quite a "whack" depending on your speed. Glad the rest of the branch didn't fly up and hit you! At the advice of someone on this board, I purchased a nice set of two new wheels for ~$540. The set of tires cost me ~$220 plus mount & balance ~$70. Too bad we didn't...

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

I think you are right. I had a flat once before where I used Progressive towing coverage. It didn't affect my rate. But you described the reason I didn't report it as an accident. Although a road hazard, if covered, is probably a comprehensive claim, I didn't want it to mar my insurance record...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

    Both nice-looking bikes!

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

Thanks! You're probably right. When we lived in TN, I wore out the sides on a 2-wheeler riding twisties most of the time and to work everyday. But seems less likely on the spyder.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

No, I didn't report it as an accident. I just used the towing coverage on insurance to get a lift home for us and the bike.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

Received the new wheels and tires. Scheduled an alignment. About set to go. Hope the spring weather sticks around.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

BB King named his guitar. Some name their cars and bikes. But I never thought of a good name ...

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

@2dogs, I tried to check it myself once, a few years ago. It seemed about right. But that was a few potholes and an obstacle ago.

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

Sounds like an alignment service would be a good idea. I just had new tires mounted. So this is probably a good time to have an alignment done.

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

Looking at my right front tire with ~12K miles, I was thinking I need an alignment. However, my wife reminded me that we ride MANY rural 2-lane paved roads. These roads are usually crowned. That would seem to put significantly more pressure on the right side of the right front tire causing this...

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

Thanks, I got a similar quote. But the shop generally does not do motorcycles. Since mine is a 3-wheeler, they would have been willing to give it a try. But they were a bit hesitant and I had already ordered the upgraded wheels.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

I think I ordered the same wheels and tires except, since mine is a blacked out model, I ordered the black ORB type with the machined surface. It appears like it should be somewhere between the black look and the chrome look.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

It's quite a jolt to hit an object. It can shake you up a bit. A wheel repair shop said they could try to repair mine. But I think this is a good time (e.g. excuse :giggle:) to get some fancier looking wheels along with new tires. I have 12,000 miles on the bike. It had original front tires and...

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

Finally 50+ degrees today. Time for a ryde. But while riding on a rural highway next to a rock wall, a 3-4" piece fell into our path. It was a bit of a jolt and the tire went down, so I thought I may need a new R front tire. But, as you can see in the picture, the rim is damaged. I'm afraid to...
