• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there anyone who can Turn off DESS in Wisconsin?

The software license is tied to the interface. I can't run my BUDS on your interface, and vice versa.

Educate me on the reliability of the Rykers

I follow both Spyder and Ryker groups. While my personal Ryker experience is admittedly not common, I also indicated that VSS faults, yaw sensor failures, the so-called "left turn wobble", and fuel pump issues are commonly reported. I have seen more posts on VSS problems and limp home mode with...

Educate me on the reliability of the Rykers

I owned a Ryker for three years and follow the groups. My impression is Rykers are less reliable. Yes, many people have had no problems, but VSS faults, yaw sensor, the so-called "left turn wobble", and fuel pump issues are common. My Ryker was the most unreliable motorcycle I have ever owned...

Looking at an '09 RS SM5 - are they Reliable & Easy to work for DIY repairs & maintenance? What about Electronics?

I do all my own maintenance and repairs as well except mounting and balancing tires. For some repairs such as replacing sensors you will need BUDS, as I did when I replaced a faulty yaw sensor, and to properly bleed the brakes. BUDS works for all years up to 2017 and BUDS2 for 2017 and later...

Can someone explain the physics of how a tire balancer liquid works?

This guy put a GoPro inside his tire with balance beads, also tested balance on a machine. He couldn't explain how they work, but read the comments where some have tried to explain it.

Had my Speedometer head replaced - is there any way of correcting the odometer?

This is from an old Ryker BUDS2 file. I didn't actually try to increase the odometer reading, for obvious reasons, but I assumed that it could be done (maybe not?). BUDS on my 2014 RSS has no such option offered.

Had my Speedometer head replaced - is there any way of correcting the odometer?

When I had BUDS connected to my Ryker, I noticed that you could increase the odometer reading but not decrease it.

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

Not sure about other years, but I was able to adjust my speedometer with BUDS Megatech on my 2014 RSS. It was off 2-3 mph with stock tires. off 2-3 mph with stock tires.

CAUTION - RTL Brake calliper bolts are recommended One Time Use only!

I think a lot of the bolts are one use only because they have thread lock pre-applied to the bolt, not because they stretch when torqued. I would think that they could be reused with liquid thread lock.

Can anyone recommend a TPMS system other than FOBO?

I see these are not recommended for rubber tire stems.

Do I just keep pumping with Speed Bleeders until the line fills up?

Wait - OK, thinking more about this, I have a long hose on the bleed nipple, so only fluid would get sucked back in. But it doesn't. It appears that the bleeder does have a check valve. I do notice using a Might Vac that air bubbles do appear, which I assume is being drawn in past the threads of...

Do I just keep pumping with Speed Bleeders until the line fills up?

I did not miss that. So the advantage to speed bleeders is that you don't need to do the 3rd step. OK, thanks!

Do I just keep pumping with Speed Bleeders until the line fills up?

I'm confused. I've bled brakes on my 2014 RSS following the service manual procedure. There is no mention of speed bleeders nor opening and closing the bleeder at the bottom of each stroke. The fluid bled as expected by just pumping the brake pedal, with no fluid returning on the upstroke. In...

Am I the only one having difficulties with Front Wheel removal on 2018 Spyder RT?

I bought a used 2014 last year, date code on the tires were 2013, the wheels were probably never removed. I could not get the lug nuts off. I sprayed them with penetrating oil, waited a day, repeated a couple more times. That did the trick for me.

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Yes, I am certain. I was also in the embedded firmware business for 35 years. Let me try to convince you. Using Pedal Box's chart, I copied their most aggressive curve (Sport mode) onto the test results from my Ryker. The blue line is stock Ryker TAS and the green line is Pedal Box Sport mode...

What is involved with a Rear tire vs Front tires that makes it almost double the Mounting Cost? Drive belt?

I used this method to remove the rear wheel. No change or adjustment to belt alignment.
