• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Well i didn't expect that

That's why I think getting all the braking done before the corner, it tends to make the nose dip and use up some of the travel in the front suspension. Then as you traverse through the apex of the corner quite a lot of the initial travel of the suspension is used up and the bike seems to lean...

    Well i didn't expect that

I learned a lot on how to ride my RT LTD from the Can Am rider training. Gave me much more confidence in the bike in corners. Practice made it all come together for me. Ridden as a touring machine, I think if set up correctly, the suspension, tires and so forth are generally fit for purpose...

Anyone tried an RLS a/mkt exhaust on a 2020+ RT Ltd?

I keep the stock exhaust. To get my helmet on I have to take my hearing aids out. Then I can't really tell the difference between the stock pipe and a wide open pipe. I rather suspect the performance difference between stock and aftermarket pipes is probably not that significant. Keeping my wife...

Compare a 500 mile ride on a Spyder with same on 2 wheels?

I really agree with this. If you have never ridden a Can Am Spyder or Ryker before, the test ride will be revealing as to the difference in operation and feel between a 2 wheeler and a 3 wheeler. I doubt it will be very enlightening as to riding comfort. After my first trip home I was ready to...

Anyone used Castrol Full Synthetic? Results?

I've used Castrol 1 4T fully synthetic, as recommended, in my 2015 Triumph Trophy and 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120. I know it has a different name in some markets, but they are seemingly equivalent. I have never had any issues using it in either Triumph and as the Rotax 1330 triple uses very...

Need advice on a Coolant & brake flush, its cost, & mileage interval?

Does your house have a moat, and a portcullis? This seems like a pretty impressive piece of engineering. I presume with the structure winched up there is adequate protection against zombies?

Besides OEM, what options are there for tires for an RT?

I noticed there is an new Kumho tire in the 165/55R15 71V size, the Solus HS51. Available from Japan, from Nengun. I have no idea if these are any good, but at least they are the correct size. If you want really, really cheap, I found 165/55R15 tires on alibaba.com for as low as $13 US. Cannot...

Besides OEM, what options are there for tires for an RT?

I think it is called Vee Rubber?

Besides OEM, what options are there for tires for an RT?

I think perhaps "pretty much junk" is a little strong. As OEM tires go, I don't think they are that bad, mine seem to work OK in the wet or the dry. Most OEM tires as fitted to new cars or bikes tend to have less than the best of longevity or performance, even if they have a name brand. The OEM...

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

I've found for a lot of the twisties my 21 RT Limited has a significant amount of engine braking, so despite my height I don't need to brake as often as one would think. Doing switch backs of course, brakes are needed, for most twisty sets of roads I just get a nice flow going and it seems to be...

Is a 2015 F3-S Rear wheel the same as 2015 RT?

Getting off topic here, but the electronics are what keeps the Spyder being somewhat rideable. Just removing all the safety and control systems from a stock bike would probably make it uncontrollable enough on public roads. Putting a V-Max V4 in there would be even more impossible to ride. So...

    Helmet Communication System Options?

My wife and I bought a Neotec II and a Shoei GT-Air II along with the Sena SRL2 system. I like the Neotec and she likes her GT-Air II. The SENA system was easy to fit myself to either helmet. So far they have worked really well. I don't connect either of them to the BRP Connect system, they just...

Is a 2015 F3-S Rear wheel the same as 2015 RT?

I believe the Australian Spyders, certain types and generations, used the smaller rear sprocket to achieve higher gearing to help get through the stringent noise regulations. They also used the longer silencers from other models to replace the shorter mufflers found on some bikes. My guess...

998cc Brass shavings in engine oil

New Spyders seem to be about 10-15% more expensive in Aus, not three times - I would hope not as they are darned expensive enough here. Some of the used ones are a bit cheaper in Aus than the equivalent in the US even. US prices don't include taxes etc, so they may even be closer in price than...

998cc Brass shavings in engine oil

Typically oil analysis is done through the mail. They send you a sample bottle, you fill it with oil, mail it off, then get a report via email or in mail. Looking on E-Bay, a low mileage engine of that vintage usually goes for between $2,000 and $3,000 (US dollars). I'm sure, somewhere in...

    New Tires...Brand and Size

One has to be careful when dealing with the roiling circumference of a tire versus its static unloaded stationary circumference. The real, or rolling circumference, is effected by the tire construction, the tire pressure and the speed of rotation at which it is calculated (I think DIN spec says...

Arcimoto - They're at it again

The limit for me is how big are the batteries, how heavy are they, how much range I will get at reasonable cruising speed and what is the recharge time. I know I can get 200+ miles on 5 US gallons of gas on my Spyder, and it usually takes me about 10 minutes to queue, fill up, and get ready to...

Cruise control issues on 2021 RT - not working; anyone else?

When I was a kid in England it was on TV there too, we loved it and watched every week. David Carradine I think was the actor. His father and brothers starred in it too. It was fascinating to watch him wander the American west, never thought I'd live out here though.

Another trailer question - could a 2018 RT Ltd ride up onto this?

How about a couple of those motocross scissor jacks under the front of each side of the trailer with some wheel chocks might do it? They usually lift 15 to 18 inches. I wonder if that would give enough angle to fix the break over problem without creating too much of an angle? They can lift up to...

    Just bought - 2014 Spyder RT-S SE6 77K miles with RT-622 trailer

I guess it's down to expectations too. With my 3 previous long distance touring bikes, BMW K1200GT, R1200GS, and Triumph Trophy TT SE, my expectations are about 8,000 miles or so for a rear tire and to replace the front tire at the same time because they were close enough to make installing them...
