• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: My '21 RT Battery Tender Permanent Tail Installation.

OK, so it was time to install my battery tender's permanent charging connector tail for the winter. Last year I used the clamp tail, but this year I was going to do a neater job as per my motorcycles. I use this tender I bought off Amazon: Battery Tender 022-0209-BT-WH Selectable Charger is an...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Now that is a really cool color, the orange.

Questioning wearing Ear Plugs while riding

The current digital hearing aids have got a lot better at noise discrimination in places like restaurants and shops. I can program mine with different modes to isolate specific frequencies to better resolve speech from the background noise. I just select the different modes with the button on...

Now I have Exhaust that shoot flames with little addon

Martin, I don't know where you live Slovakia, but if I ran that exhaust plus a CAT delete on my trike, my neighbors would probably set fire to it. Waking their kids up with it would not go down at all well. That thing is loud, without the CAT I think it would attract a lot of attention from...

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

Fuel ratngs Peter ^^^^^^ Thank you for the additions. I presumed Australia would be like the rest of the world. From my trips to Australia I was pretty sure there weren't many gas/petrol stations at 5,000 feet/1500 meters (metres). I was very confused to understand why US bikes got less mpg...

    Utah Dealers reprise

I bought my 2021 RT LTD new from Karl Malone in SLC on 3600 S. Was a good buying experience. They also fixed all the rear air suspension issues it had from new. Drove both me and their techs crazy but they eventually got it all sorted. Had servicing and repair work done by Moto United in...

Questioning wearing Ear Plugs while riding

I have to take my hearing aids out to fit my helmet with my glasses comfortably. I can run my helmet comms loud enough to hear my wife at most speeds with the windscreen set right. I bluetooth my phone to the helmet comms and I can just about hear enough to ask people to call back later if...

    I test rode a 2023 today!

Arthritis in wrists, knees and ankles. If your Spyder is aligned correctly with decent tires it should roll along nicely at freeway speeds. I find I keep both hands on the bars as that posture gives me the least pain. I rest up when I gas up and Tylenol is my friend at the end of the day...

Anyone towed their Spyder on a Stinger Trike Trailer?

I bought a Kendon USA Spyder specific trailer. Really recommend it. Very robust, tows well, loads easily and folds vertically to move around for storage. Ships from California, drop shipped for free on a palette stacked vertically. Easy to unpack and assemble. I did it by myself though it...

Venting about Tire wear and alignment...

I suspect my more modern Kendas are' better than 2008 versions. I tried a Spyder RT on car tires and and honestly liked my Kendas enough

Venting about Tire wear and alignment...

This kind of my experience with my 2021 RT LTD. The OEM Kendas I have on mine have seemed just fine. They are not the best I'm sure, like any OEM tire supplied on a new machine they are partly chosen by the vendor due to cost, but they seem to do the job OK. I actually like the way they feel...

    Utah Dealers reprise

I know charging $150 per hour labor rates seems like a lot, but most other motorcycle brands charge approximately the same amount based upon locale. Most car dealerships charge about the same rates to be honest. It costs the same to do an oil change on my SUV, but it's about the same complexity...

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

The geometry of the engine does lead to positive and negative pressure pulses in the crankcase. The fact that the connecting rod is connected to a central position by the wrist pin at one end and an eccentric crank pin at the other means the acceleration of the piston up from bottom dead center...

    Are 2022 RT's Speed limited?

One up, my RT LTD seemed to get quite front end light on a "private road" speed test I once gave it. Here at 5,000 feet, the drop in power means 105-108 mph is seriously optimistic though. With the aerodynamics of a small house, it might look very slippery, but I rather think it doesn't do a...

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

I think Australia uses the European method for octane rating calculation, not the averaging mechanism used in North America. The European rating is numerically higher that North America for the same gas/petrol. Also, it depends on where the rider is at altitude. Here at 5,000 feet in the...

Are the Front belt pulley bolts on 998 SE5's & 1330 SE6's the same?

I'm not a lawyer, but I couldn't find any ten year law for parts. The only thing I could find is they have to provide parts for the duration of their warranty period. Emissions they have to cover to fix for 8 years, but it doesn't say anything about parts, just that they have to fix emissions...

    Check that tire pressure!

I bought one of these tire inflators off Amazon.com, It was $59 US. "AVID POWER Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor, 12V DC / 120V AC Car Tire Pump, Air Mattress Pump with Inflation and Deflation Modes, Dual Powerful Motors, Digital Pressure Gauge" (Model ACAP322). I measured against a...

RT Ltd Suspension fault - does it have a Schrader valve? Where? Ideas?

For me the fault was C102A if I remember correctly. The bike was a new 2021 RT LTD. The ride height actuator arm was not connected. The resulting continuously running pump then failed. And there was air leaks. The pressure release valve was faulty too. After 5 months in the shop (well there...

Brand new 2023 S2S Clunks going into Reverse - is this OK?

Every BMW I ever had, up to but not including the water cooled generation, clunked like a tractor going into gear. But that was every gear. My Spyder clunks loud enough to scare small children going into gear, forward or reverse, when cold. I don't worry about it. I think "they all do it sir"...

My two cents - new tires - ContiProContacts in 165/60R15

I seem to be the odd one out. I think traction and handling wise, the OEM Kendas aren't that bad. Sure, they wear fairly quickly and damage more easily than a car tire, but I think for either wet or dry riding they are OK. I can flick my 21 RT LTD around in the canyons fast enough and can keep...
