• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Considering 2023 or 2024 RT Sea-to-Sky - some questions to help me decide/commit??

The earlier 2021 and 2022 Sea-to-Sky models had lots of extras for the money, luggage bags etc. This made it probably worth the extra money and I probably should have got one rather than the RT LTD I bought. I'd check what the difference in goodies between the Sea-to-Sky 2023 and the 2024 for...

Are Tire 'Flat Stoppers' necessary for winter storage??

Never worried about flat spots, Can Am or motorcycles. Used Sta-Bil most years, unless I forget. Always on a battery tender anyway. Give it a wipe down to get the dust off. I've never had a problem from November to March storage. Pretty cold in my garage over the winter, and hot over the summer...

Do I need a new battery?????

All the pig tails sets I've had, all have an inline fuse. You might just want to check to see if it is present and not blown, or corroded. I did have a fuse pop once a few years ago and never found out why. The charging current was within limits etc, no shorts in the electrical system, good...

Well, that didn't take long... First fault on my new 2023 RTL! Air Suspension Fault.

If it’s C210A it usually means it can’t set the ride height properly. Under the rear seat is a schrader valve. Measure the pressure, it should be at least 30 psi if you’ve been riding one up. Using a HAND pump, put like 40 psi into it. Then measure it again on the next day. It should hold...

Cooling Fans blowing air forwards when stopped - I never knew....

I wonder how the dealers check the oil level after an oil change? I can't imagine they go and ride for x-minutes and then let it idle for y-minutes? Perhaps they just idle for a few minutes to warm the oil, drain it, and then add the wet fill service amount? I cannot see BRP having their techs...

What tire size is best for the Can-Am Spyder RT 2022 model?

Front tire is a 195? Doesn't that kind of mess with the scrub angle and make the steering a little heavy? Just curious how it changes the feel?

    Are 2022 RT's Speed limited?

It might not be the longest but there is a nice downhill straight stretch on I80 west bound from Summit Park down towards the Salt Lake Valley that’s pretty steep. Also eastbound on I70 coming down from the other side of the mountains from its start at I15. Both are in Utah and get pretty high...

What panels need to be taken off to do the Brake switch recall?

Most techs these days are used to removing and storing Tupperware properly, every motorcycle or 4x4 they have probably ever worked on has expensive plastics. Remember that recreational vehicle dealers work differently to car dealers. They assume that it isn't your primary form of transport and...

So, there's no more cam sensor on '22 models?!

My old Hondas (400/4 F2) and other motorcycles of that vintage had wasted spark, firing every 360 degrees. I image sparking in the exhaust stroke helps clean up the emissions a little bit helping with Euro-5 or similar perhaps. On the other hand it might be to reduce build costs? Who knows for...

What is the OEM 2020 Spyder RT wheel offset?

You can measure the wheel offset by taking the wheel off and measuring the wheel width and divide by two. Then measure the distance from the inside rim to the plate surface. Subtract that from the half wheel width measurement and you have your offset. If it is a positive or negative number you...

Well, that didn't take long... First fault on my new 2023 RTL! Air Suspension Fault.

Mine ended up needing all the valves pipework, compressor, It might be warm enough in Kentucky to do that. Mine was stuck from Thanksgiving until Easter waiting for parts through Covid to finally fix it all. Now it runs great, but oh boy was I a bit ticked with all the problems on a new bike. I...

Well, that didn't take long... First fault on my new 2023 RTL! Air Suspension Fault.

It happened to my 2021 RT LTD. Mine ended up with a series of problems. In the end they changed the whole rear suspension components as a set. It used to throw C210A codes too. After they connect the ride height arm, it was still throwing codes, though only as I went over road conditions where...

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

From what I can remember the Ethanol has about 30% less energy than gasoline. So for 10% Ethanol you are going to lose about 30% of the energy for that 10%. So for a gallon of gas you are going to only have about 97% of the energy you would have on 100% gas versus the 10% Ethanol blend. So, in...

Does any Spyder have Autonomous Braking?

I don't think any of the Spyders or Rykers are equipped with the radar systems needed for either adaptive cruise or autonomous braking, mine certainly doesn't and it wasn't an option. Neither do they have blindspot avoidance systems. They do have linked braking and ABS coupled with a stability...

HowTo: My '21 RT Battery Tender Permanent Tail Installation.

Absolutely. You would think after all these years I would learn, but no. I even tried to do the magnetic stick trick, but of course I couldn't find the stupid thing as I probably used it years ago and cannot remember where I last put it. I hate getting old. I take it the BSA in the UK and...

How long should it take to replace the Wiring harness? ‘17 F3 LTD.

Out of warranty, my guess is that it would be on a time and materials basis. I suspect the warranty book rate is quite unrealistic for the time it actually takes for a trained tech to do the work. If it is replacing the full main wiring harness, that is not a simple job obviously, and it may...

HowTo: Setting the front tire pressures equally each side.

I use the following Amazon purchased product to set tire pressures: AVID POWER Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor, 12V DC / 120V AC Car Tire Pump, Air Mattress Pump with Inflation and Deflation Modes, Dual Powerful Motors, Digital Pressure Gauge You dial in the tire pressure you want, press...

HowTo: My '21 RT Battery Tender Permanent Tail Installation.

I normally am, but I thought, oh, 5 minute job. I didn't even see the gap at the back of the frunk there. The chances of anything going in that narrow gap has to be a thousand to one. So, of course that's where it went. I am usually extremely cautious about such things, especially on machines...
