• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderlovers - Facebook - Or Both?

Yes, agree 100%. Facebook has its value. There is a Facebook group dedicated to using BRP connect. I also belong to a Facebook group that focuses on the SENA 20S headsets. Further, there is a Facebook page specifically for the SpyderQuest rally. And BajaRon, I go to your FB page to make...

I replaced original Saddlebag reflectors using TricLED Red LED Running Light kit

Very nice looking. And installed quite well. Good luck with your new lights. As you state, the added lights also add safety. You may, however, find that the bike looks a little "lopsided" unless you also replace the amber front fender markers with LEDs. It's hard to tell from your avatar, but...

'24 RT - What's missing to get Music from Android phone to play on Spyder?

Have you connected the phone function only? You might try pairing the phone under "Bluetooth Audio" as well.

Do Waterless Washes work, or scratch the paint? eg. Buglside, etc.

You are correct. If you've been off-roading on your Spyder, then yes, you need to hose it down with water to wash all the mud and grime off. The waterless cleaners are there for light duty cleaning. Watermarks from rain, light dust and bugs are the principal targets. Also, some of these...

    What GPS are you using?

I'm using the Garmin XT. I'm seriously thinking of upgrading to the XT2. It's bigger, brighter and faster. If you are upgrading from the TomTom, definitely go for the XT2. I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading from the XT to the XT2.

Chrome or Blacked-out - am I the only one who likes Chrome??

I prefer the blacked-out look, but there is nothing wrong with the chrome look. It can be very attractive but requires more effort to keep it clean and shiny. It's just a matter of personal preference. You say potato, I say potato................

New Owner of a 2022 Spyder RT - Trying to decide on navigation aids?

Welcome to the group. I'm sure you will enjoy your Spyder. It's a very comfortable ride, with almost every bell, whistle, gottz and gazoole known to mankind. One small warning: You can't ride a Spyder for any length of time and be the shy retiring type. People will come at you in a friendly...

2013 battery change - do the 2 tabs go into any slots??

YES you are correct !! Those tabs fit into slots that you cannot see or feel. One of those "What the hell were they thinking?" designs on the Spyder. You have to lean the battery forward. This exposes the slots where the tabs fit into. You need to slip the tabs into the slots and then lift...

    Downshifting vs Braking

Thanks so much for your help Peter, but I stand by my original comments. You are correct, there are many options. The ECU should prevent the driver from blowing the engine. I slow down using my brakes and the Spyder then downshifts itself accordingly. Others are welcome to ride any way they...

    Downshifting vs Braking

I know all the arguments that the Spyders are designed for downshifting. Nevertheless brakes cost far less than transmissions. I slow down using brakes. Why tempt fate?

2019 RTL - getting leaves out of grilles?

You can use a shop vac to vacuum them out, followed by a good flush from a garden hose and spray nozzle. Once it's clean, I'd recommend installing KOTT grills. There are a number of flavors of grills, either stainless steel or black, some with logos and others without them. Here's one...

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

I also have to get on my back to air up the rear tire. At 71, I'm still young enough that I don't really have an issue with this.

'22 RT starting slowly after sitting on tender - replacement Battery?

I bought my 2020 Spyder and picked it up in March of 2020. By March 2022 the factory YUASA battery was dead. Prior to its premature demise, the Spyder would turn over slowly. It's true, "They don't make 'em like they used to". I was stranded and needed an immediate replacement. I got a battery...
