• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Just brought home 2 Rykers

Congratulations and welcome to the world of Can-Am red. It’s funny how they can paint a Spyder a true red but they still refer to their logo color as red when it is clearly orange!

2011 RSS random multiple fault codes and lights

Did you pull out the relays and put them back in to be sure they are seated correctly? Also check your battery connections to insure they are tight.

    2011 RT Brake Failure

As brake pads wear your fluid level drops so your pads may be in need of replacement.

    2020 RT project

I heard Spyderpops was working on one, I’ve got long legs so no issues for me.

    Wedgies work!

Happy to hear that you like them. We are about to launch them for the 20 RT, they have the same issue but the dimensions are a little different.

    Being seen

It is a matter of being seen, not being heard. Invest in high biz gear and added lighting. Also take a safety class if you haven’t already. Sign up here https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/learn-to-ride/registration.html

How do I find a good used Spyder in the Pacific Northwest?

You can buy mine in Las Vegas and enjoy a nice ride through Utah to Colorado.

    Engine seals and gaskets

I had a bearing go on my 14 RT that required the engine to be pulled and it was covered under BEST.

The bulb we buy has an H8/H9 designation not sure what wattage they are though.

    Spyder group riding etiquette

You ride staggered leaving a 2 second minimum gap between you and the rider in front of you. Riding like this gives you a better line of sight and also gives you more space to maneuver quickly if needed. I don’t understand how anyone can argue with that logic and if you do I won’t be riding with...

    Itching for Texas

Sadly that rally is no more, no one stepped up to take over. This year Spyders on the Bayou moved their rally to the October dates instead. I hope to see you and Camille on the bayou.

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

Jay has a good suggestion, on my 14 RTS I had overheating issues twice and neither happened at home in Las Vegas. Once was in Alaska and the other in Quebec both times I had ridden on wet, dirt roads. I was at BRP Homecoming when it happened and they replaced my radiators as it was like concrete...

    Highway Stability

80 mph, cruise set on the Interstate is my Spyder’s happy place no issues with wind or trucks.

Trying to buy a new 2020 RT limited chrome

You would think that but you’d be wrong, since the dealers orders were cut due to the virus they will not be getting additional units anytime soon. So many of them are not negotiating much at all. Current offers are 2 year BEST and 2.9% financing through Sheffield.

Fuel economy not as bad as I was led to believe

That is awesome that she is riding in the proper rpm range, so many don’t. We usually stop at 130-150 miles but it is nice to know how far you can go if the need arises.

    Post-ride disinfect

I take my riding gloves off to pump gas, pandemic or not, then I use sanitizer. I take my gloves off in case I spill gas, I can always wash my hands but my gloves will smell if they get gas on them.

Then you need a 9005 bulb

    Headlight

First you need to determine which light is out. They are different bulbs for each, they should be listed in the owners manual. The headlight is a 9005 and the fogs are H9. The Foglights have a switch to turn them on and off, your headlights are always on if the Spyder is running.

    In-helmet music options

How did you listen to music on your Wing? I would think that the same setup could be used on your Spyder.
