• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Will a BajaRon Bar off a 2018 F3T fit a 2020+ RT?

It will fit, but it won't do a proper job. Our RT bar is a fair amount stronger than the F3 bar (same goes for the OEM bars). The RT is heavier and has a higher center of gravity than the F3. This requires more control from the sway bar. An F3 bar on an RT will give you improvement over stock...

    I am now Spyderless

We all hate to see you go. It reminds us that we are all on that same pathway and someday, it will come to each of us. But our good wishes go with you.

Looking at a 2020 Spyder - is this high mileage? Any thoughts?

We get customers in that are so thrilled that they found a Spyder with very low miles. Less than 1,000 on a 5 year old bike or less than 5,000 on a 10 year old, for example. I never say anything because I don't want to dampen their enthusiasm. But low mileage means the bike has been sitting and...

Is this much Oil usage normal?

Now that is the most excellent explanation I've ever heard. May I have permission to use it? I promise not to make it sound like I thought of it myself.

Quatrac 5 - 155/60R15's no longer available? What size will fit a '20+ Spyder?

We have not had this issue. Where was the tire hitting?

Quatrac 5 - 155/60R15's no longer available? What size will fit a '20+ Spyder?

The Vredestein Quatrac is an excellent tire in all situations. It especially excels in the rain. But gives nothing up in the dry or cold weather. The 175/55R-15 works very well on the pre 2020 Spyder models. However, we don't recommend them for the 2020 and up Spyders because BRP reduced the...

Is this much Oil usage normal?

True, all Internal Combustion Engines do use some oil. The 998 V-Twin uses a fair amount and needs to be checked. However, the 1330 uses so little that it is virtually impossible to measure the loss. So while the statement that 'The 1330 ACE engine DOES NOT USE ANY OIL!!!!!' is a technical...

Any suggestions on running Gravel and dirt roads on a Spyder?

Would you run your Lexus on these roads? If not, then pretty much same thing goes for the RT.

    Blue Light Special Anyone?

I knew we were exceeding the speed limit. Though we were moving with the flow of traffic, as light as it was. I have no ill feelings about the trooper, during or after the event. He would have been fully within the scope of his duties if he'd written me a ticket. I think he discovered that he...

    Blue Light Special Anyone?

We tried hard! We really wanted to see everyone. And yes, the wind was brutal. It was actually a bit worse on the trip home. But I've had worse than this on trips out west. As long as John is around, there will always be a 'Next Time'. Glad you had fun. For this time of year, it was a very...

    Blue Light Special Anyone?

Not sure why, but my rides usually turn into adventures. Daniel and I decided to ride out to Marion, NC on Wednesday morning for a John Maddox arranged lunch. John is a great guy and tries to do this once each month. It is a labor of love and I know the local Spyder/Ryker community appreciates...

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

Since Ride-On does both, and people like a balanced tire, it just seemed like an appropriate addition to the conversation. Slime will unbalance a tire. No big deal at 5 mph on a lawnmower, but a big problem at 75 mph on the freeway!

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

Here is the main difference between the MC Ride-On and the Car Tire formula. Motorcycle tires have a relatively small amount of air keeping them inflated. Plus, to get a flat on 2 wheels is much more dangerous and usually much quicker deflation than a car tire. So, a quick seal is primary with...

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

Ride-On doesn't make a mess. We change a lot of tires here at the shop. Never an issue with Ride-On. It stays put in the center of the tire. We prefer glass beads over ceramic. They tend to retain their shape and size better. We use beads too large to get stuck in the valve stem. Of course...

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

It is strange how the repair matrix is laid out. Are they saying that all shaft failures occurred before the cap mileage so that if you get to that point without any shaft problems you have a good shaft which does not need replacement? And if they are replacing the front pulley regardless. Does...

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

Do not use Slime in any high speed tire. It will give you loads of grief and you'll have to remove the tire and clean it out. Use Ride-On. I recommend using the car tire formula and not the motorcycle formula. Ride-On originally recommended the car tire formula. Made sense because the Spyder...

Looking for another rider to join me on a Long distance tour, Windsor Ontario to Cape Breton to PEI to Newfoundland and back, July 2025!!!!

You've got time to test ride with potential road companions. Traveling faster than you feel comfortable is a very important component. Some things should not be negotiable. I don't know that there are any perfect riding buddies any more than there's a perfect spouse. Compromise is always...

Has anyone worked out how to improve a 2024 RTL Sea to Sky FM Radio Antenna?

The connection we've found unattached is right at the base of the antenna. It takes some digging to access it. An aftermarket antenna seems to help as well. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be a very good system.

Looking for another rider to join me on a Long distance tour, Windsor Ontario to Cape Breton to PEI to Newfoundland and back, July 2025!!!!

It is a precious and sometimes rare thing to find someone that you can enjoy riding long distance with. Lamont was that person for me. I didn't realize how varied riding styles can be until I attempted to ride long distance with others. Some of the best times of my life. Spyderpops was another...

Only One Oil Plug on 2024 RT?

It is, without a doubt, a design with disaster built in. A disaster which is repeated frequently. It defies logic. Who would come up with this as a 'Solution'? I have to say that it can be done as I have an original 2008 Spyder with the original drain plugs installed. Zero issues. But you have...
