• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

All of the 2008-2012 Spyders use the same rotor. All of the 2013-today use the same rotor (though different from the early models) None of the BRP, OEM rotors are of great quality. But they are adequate for most riders. Whether or not you should be worried depends more on your riding style than...

Any thoughts on Ground clearance on the RTL?

There are tons of threads addressing this question. Though debated in an atmosphere of unnecessary drama and confusion. The simple reality is that the Spyder (contrary to the wording molded into the tire) runs on car tires. Yes, so lightly (or poorly) constructed, depending on your point of...

Dealer says Car tires damage fenders - does this make sense???

Peter! You're a man after my own heart! But I fear we are a couple of Don Quixotes' tilting at windmills! May we never give up! ;)

Belt Squeaking and Rattling on start-up only - should I be concerned??

I am as confused as Peter here. A rattling belt at startup? Have no idea but that can't be your drive belt. And like Peter says, that's the only one on the bike. For the squeak (which could be belt generated if you're moving) Step 1, Check belt alignment. Step 2, Check belt tension. Step 3...

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

Take those rotors off and throw them away! Does the previous owner have a receipt for them? Were they charged for EBC Rotors? EBC rotors are clearly stamped. As others have mentioned, those must be 08-12 rotors. Flushing the brake system is a very good idea. But it isn't going to grow the...

Any Way to disable VSS/Traction control or severely dumb it down?

This is a very dangerous pursuit. BRP hires retired professional racers to test their vehicles. Lamont and I were, at one time, privileged to be able to sit and talk with these guys. With a skill level easily above all of us. They warned of dire consequences suffered with the VSS off line. They...

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

They can still service Spyders and get parts. They can still take Spyder's in trade, etc. I don't know if they can do warranty work and certainly, they won't get any new machines. But it doesn't necessarily mean the end of a relationship.

Any thoughts on Ground clearance on the RTL?

I agree. Who purchases a ride just for ground clearance? You'll give up a lot going to a Canyon just so you don't have a low front end. The real issue is not the initial 4.5" on the RT. The problem is, once loaded, you may be looking at 3". Hit a dip in the road or while entering a driveway and...

Dealer says Car tires damage fenders - does this make sense???

Good luck with that. A dealership cannot be forced to mount any aftermarket product. It's their business and I fully support them running it they way they see fit. If they don't make the customer happy, that person can go elsewhere. Though I realize some dealerships are few and far between. It...

Anyone else have or know what this Front end banging/clanking noise might be?

Early instructions did not have a torque value. The gap at the top is normal. Sorry to be a pain. But the area I need to see is right were the bolt goes through the bushing. It's usually easier, and better lighted, to take the picture from the outboard side. That bulge in the bottom of the...

Installing PedalBox has increased idle speed to 1000-1050 - will this damage anything? Anyone else notice this?

Idle should not be affected. Something is wrong, either with the install or possibly a defective PedalBox. Are you sure the throttle is returning fully to it's stop? I would contact PedalBox and talk to a tech to get their input.

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

Whoa! Something is definitely up with this! The correct EBC rotor is the same size as OEM. What part # is stamped in that EBC rotor? I would send these pictures to EBC and get this corrected ASAP!

Any thoughts on Ground clearance on the RTL?

There are simple and relatively inexpensive ways to mitigate and recover lost ground clearance. You don't have to live with front end ground strikes.

Anyone else have or know what this Front end banging/clanking noise might be?

The part of the bushing that I need to see is behind the arm. I need to see the bushing where the bolt goes through it. Did you tighten the Arm Bolts to 175-185 In.Pds?

NAPA Oil test results Shell Rotella T6 15W-40

Any combined engine/transmission power train will be much harder on oil viscosity than engine alone applications. Engines do not produce the crushing force that occurs in a geared transmission. The BRP XPS blended oil will shear down to 20w at around 5,000 miles. We have confirmed this with...

NAPA Oil test results Shell Rotella T6 15W-40

Oil Analysis are very interesting. I'd almost be tempted to ask for a forum page where people could post theirs all in one place. This is the analysis I got back from my 2008 GS at 3,370 miles. The reason I did such a short run was because I'd put about 2,500 miles on this oil change and then...

F3 Base - Rear shock bottoms out (stationary) with my passenger onboard. I'm shock illiterate, what do I need in a shock?

I would agree with Yabbadabbadoo. You can spend money on your base F3 and probably get it to do what you want. But you may spend that money and end up deciding you need an RT at the end anyway. Not trying to discourage you as I love my F3. But an F3 simply won't do what an RT will do.

Brake pads and rotors backordered - does anyone know if there's any in the US I can get now?

If you called the shop we are 9-5, M-F ET. I can PM you my personal phone number if needed.

On a Trail Rating System, I believe a Canyon Redrock can travel Level 2 Routes

I have the same feeling. I've done some off pavement riding with my 2008 GS and our Ryker Rally. They are both very dicey in any situation where traction is not good. Especially if going up or down even a mild hill. Add a curve on an uphill climb and you're toast. In my opinion, BRP needs to add...

Brake pads and rotors backordered - does anyone know if there's any in the US I can get now?

You are so lucky that the dealership didn't have them. You're way better off getting EBC rotors and brake pads. You'll save money, they are not only much better quality but they work much better to boot!
