• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderlovers - Facebook - Or Both?

I seem to be using FB less and less because of the all the ads. They have become a nuisance.

    What GPS are you using?

Zumo XT, don't leave home without it.

    Is it Zumo time???

I have Zumo mounts on both of our bikes and transfer the Zumo back and fourth between the bikes. My Cardo has two blue tooth links; one to my phone and the other to the Zumo. LaMonster has this wiring harness that makes installation a bit easier...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Finished up installing the LED lights on the front left fender of the RT. Need to take it for a ride soon.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Installed LED lights on the right front fender. Sequential turn signals on the arch of the fender and running lights / turns signals down low on the back of the fender. Tested them for function (worked as designed). Will reinstall fender tomorrow and then do the left front fender.

Anyone else dealing with this sort of Gas Mileage?

I average 35 mpg (US gallons) on rolling terrain riding two up. 40 to 50 mpg is excellent.

Anybody carry a Portable Chair on their Spyder? Where do you mount it?

Big Agnes Big Six chair. It is a sling style chair, shock corded poles, high seated position, supports 300#, folded up it’s slightly bigger than a Nalgene bottle, and will fit in any of the cases on our RT Limited. Pricey though. Sorry about the rotation.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Added a Show Chrome rack to the tour trunk. Well made. Simple installation. However with the additional weight of the rack the lid will no longer stay open on its own. Guess we will be using a prop rod for awhile. Anyone care to give a recommendation for a replacement lifter that can support...

Are there any Spyder Ryders/chapters in the Lehigh Valley Area?

Checkout the FB group “Retreads, Eastern Pennsylvania”. Lots of Can Am riders. The next get together is at John’s Plain and Fancy Diner in Quakertown on the first Saturday of the month. The flyer says eat at 9:30 but most people are seated before that. From the front door go to the right and...

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

On my Honda I wear my Darien jacket and pants year round with motorcycle touring boots. When I ride the Can Am with my wife in warmer months I switch to a mesh jacket that matches her jacket. This is at her request, she does not like my Aerostich Hi Viz Jacket. And I switch to jeans with work...

Considering 2023 or 2024 RT Sea-to-Sky - some questions to help me decide/commit??

First Question - we bought a new '22 S2S in July 23. We got the year end low intrest rate as advertized by Can Am and the dealer. Second Question - we don't use the BRP app mainly because we use a Garmin Zumo XT and we don't feel the BRP offers any additional features that we need. Third...

Trading Ryker in for F3 Spyder - Which model, year, and accessories do you recommend?

We looked at used trikes and felt a 2020+ RT fit our needs best. The selection of used trikes was pretty slim so we opt'ed for a new trike. Our trike is a new 2022 model. We have had it since late July '23 and have put 2500 miles on it. So far we have added a handlebar riser, a GPS mount and...

    Electric Spyder next?

I'm not sure that I agree with that. Like a hybrid when the EV is charged there is a computer controller that controlls the rate of charge and adjusts it on various parameters, like how far discharged ithe battery is, the battery temperature, the ambient temperature, and lots of other stuff. It...

    Electric Spyder next?

There have been a few comments about battery life being short. Our experience with battery life has been good on our 3 Toyota hybrids. My wife bought a 2010 Prius and drove it for 120,000 miles before handing it down to my daughter in 2015. Wife then bought a 2014 Prius at that time and drove it...

    Electric Spyder next?

I'm interested in seeing what Can Am comes up with. When Tesla came out people poo pooed them; "not far enough", "not enough stations", "too long to charge", blah, blah, blah. Now everywhere you go there is a Tesla, Toyota, Honda or whatever EV. Their mapping sofware shows you where the chargers...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Filled up the gas tank, added fuel stabilizer, and took the bike for a ride to run the mixture through the system. The day was very pretty but had a stiff cross wind and a bit cool in the low 40s. Even so we stayed out for an hour and a half and enjoyed ourselves. This was probably the last ride...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

It was a gorgeous day to be out riding here in S.E. Pennsylvania. Temperatures climbed from the 50s to almost 70 during our ride. Cloudless blue sky the whole day. We rode back roads over to a little diner for lunch and then it was up to Cabela's to buy some rain/wind pants. Then we hit the back...

VSS, Check Engine, and Limp Mode lights keep reoccurring - any ideas/advice?

Not saying this is what your bike is trying to tell you but from a google search: A P0171 code is set by your vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM) when it detects that the air-to-fuel ratio of your vehicle is too lean. This means that the PCM is relaying that the engine is receiving too...
