• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Checking In

Doing well, slowly healing. All through with radiation and chemo for about a month now. We won't know if it worked until the PET scan in January, but the tumor in my throat is gone. Still a lump on the lymph node but that might be scar tissue. I hope so, surgery would be tricky and...

    Checking In

Al, You are welcome to stop by anytime, though I go to Holland for treatment early every day and am tied up in chemo the entire day the first day of the week. I'd love to see you, may even take you up on that ride.

    Checking In

Hey there! It's been a long time since I posted. Just wanted to let you know I was still alive. Hopelessly out of date, haven't toured in some time, but still riding and still twisting wrenches. Hopelessly out of date: I have to admit that I have never even ridden a 1330, and never even sat...

    Prayers for Lamont

Just Got the News Just got the sad news. I've been in the hospital in critical condition in a similar fix, and it is very difficult, indeed. Lamont has our understanding, our best wishes, our thoughts, and our special prayers. Hang in there, guy! It will take all you have, but I now you are...

We lost one of our own yesterday

So Long, Ed I will miss Ed more than you all can imagine. We chatted regularly on Skype, and Ed and Cheryl have been good friends. I spoke with Cheryl yesterday, and Ed passed quickly and comfortably following this latest setback. I'm sure he's in good company with our other departed...

    2014 RT-S Pulls to Right

Have them zero the steering sensors and redo the alignment if necessary, Be sure they used the proper alignment procedure for the 2013/2014 model. Better yet, get a ROLO/Outlaw alignment if you can. All laser alignment is not equal.

    iPod not connectiing

It will not automatically switch to iPod/Aux. You have to do that manually on the audio display.

    LOOKS LIKE A DRAINAGE HOSE

It takes some height above the tank to route the hose, and a canister far enough from the heat to allow the vapors to condense for them to run back to the tank. This is ideal, but seldom achieved...and it is nearly impossible with the short length of the Spyder emissions system (except 2014 RT)...

Means to Repair and Air a Spyder Tire Roadside?

I carry CO2 cartridges for my motorcycle, but the Spyder tires are so large they would take several large cartridges to fill sufficiently to limp to a gas station.

    Dead Spyder need some help.

BRP's spec is 12.7 or higher for a fully charged battery in good condition, several hours after removing from the charger.

    RT-622 ?

Hopkins makes a square-4 pigtail, and probably others do too. They are not usually available in the big box store trailer departments, but Auto parts stores (especially NAPA), a good trailer shop, tractor supply, or RV store will likely have one...or order online form any trailer supplier.

Means to Repair and Air a Spyder Tire Roadside?

Most little compressors come with alligator clamps. Connect directly to the jump start terminals under the seat (in the front trunk for 2013 and newer). For plug kits I recommend the Stop-N-Go kits. They also have a combo kit with a compressor.

    RT-622 ?

Be aware that if you intend to use only a 4-wire hookup, you will not use the wires labeled right flasher and left flasher. You will connect right and left brake wires to the right and left turn signal/brake wires from the vehicle.

    Turned key on, nothing happened

If it was inadvertently left in gear when you had the problem, it would have done what you experienced. What they are saying is that it might have been left in or bumped into gear, requiring the brake. You may have instinctively stepped on the brake the second try. If it hasn't happened...

    LOOKS LIKE A DRAINAGE HOSE

With the system design (except for the 2014 RT with a redesigned system) you will likely never get rid of the drips. While all atmospheric vents from the emissions canister will show visible fumes from time to time, most cannot be seen readily as the hose end is not as readily seen. On the...

    UURG new rear tire

Speeds over 50-60 mph will increase rear tire center wear due to ballooning. Different tire pressures may aggravate this problem...especially low tire pressures from what I have seen. Lots of straight roads also seem to wear the center more.....or at least wear the sides less.

My 2013 RTS and the evap canister puking fuel adventure.

I doubt that removing the cat will do you much good. The heat increase on the mesh type cats is relatively small compared to the original exhaust temperature, and the cat is located where it heats the passengers foot more than the fuel tank. The exhaust pipe is really the main offender, along...
