• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

Heh, that should have been obvious to me! Thanks for pointing it out.

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

Yes, that plus the delay. I'll just have to downshift sooner to account for that.

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

Thank you all for the replies. Regarding downshifting (and upshifting), I am doing my own shifting. The only time I let it automatically downshift is when I'm riding city streets or highway off ramps and am just slowing to a stop. I did find that I got the best riding when I was in 3rd gear...

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

Before I get to my question, I'll give a bit of background. Until this past May I rode a 2003 BMW R1150RT. I love riding it on curvy hilly roads; it seems that all I need to do is look and think through a curve and the bike simply goes the right way. In May I suffered a spine injury that left me...

Outside Air Temperature Sensor reads high - Why? Any fixes?

That may well be. But the great majority of vehicles that have ambient temperature displays visible to the driver show the outside temperature around the vehicle, with a primary purpose being to warn of the possibility of ice on the road. In fact, some of them have a feature that flashes an...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

It didn't work at first. So I got out my voltmeter to verify I was getting voltage on the Wagu connection blocks. I was, but the wire colors are reversed: black is positive, red is negative! Reading the reviews on the Lamonster Garage website confirms that many others have also discovered this...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I mounted my BMW Nav V GPS on the left handlebar and wired it into the 12V aux connector using a plug-n-play wiring harness from Lamonster Garage. A very nice piece of kit. Getting ready to go on a group ride in southern Ohio and WV this weekend.

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

I want to say thanks to everyone on this thread, especially @Peter Aawen. I've owned my Spyder RTL for just over a week. I've done some practicing based on what I've read here, and yesterday went on a ride with my BMW owners club on some curvy roads in eastern Ohio. I had no trouble keeping up...

    How Do You Ride?

My reason for traveling slightly faster than the flow of traffic is this: On divided highways the past few years, my experience has been that the most risky maneuvers by far are people traveling faster than me, behind me in my lane, coming right up to my rear bumper and then swerving into the...

Where do you store your Cell phone??

In this holder on my left handlebar.

Had to wear Gloves for Can Am riding course - Do you wear gloves? Why? Or why not?

I always wear gloves while riding. As others have said, they are protection against bugs and rocks, and also for the unlikely but traumatic event of a come-off.

Hey Ya'll We Got A New Member! Lets welcome RogerC60 to SL

Hi everyone, After looking at the Can-Am 3-wheel on-road cycles for a few months, I finally bought one last week, a 2024 Spyder RT LTD. I had been riding a BMW R1150RT for a few years, but an injury left me with a weak left leg and that ended my two-wheel riding (until I can get my back fixed)...
