• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

'08 GS with locked up brakes from sitting - what's the best way to release?

One thing we use to see in automotive brakes on older cars of say 8-10yr or more with brakes hanging up was the flex hose would deteriorate on inside. And what it does is act like a one way valve. It would hold pressure on but it could not return as fast and caused brakes to drag or sometimes...

How Wet have you ever been on your Spyder??

On my Spyder pretty wet, but its because its been 105+ heat index and shop I work in is even hotter. So only sweat. But on a bike bunches of times. I had a co-worker with me on back and pulling a trailer. WE were returning from a USAF school in Charleston SC. WE camped in Ala and next morning...

    What GPS are you using?

So I got a picture of the set up I think I'm going to use. The GPS is center and Sirrius is left. The "sun shades" are index card boxs with the smaller lid side cut off and mounted thru to the mounts to the units.

Who would have thought that Grip Puppies could make such a difference!

I was getting some wrist and shoulder pain and was pretty sure it was size of grips. Put the grip puppies on and it took care of the numbness that was plaguing me.

    What GPS are you using?

I bought a Garmin 765T years ago for a couple reasons. First was I could make my own routes on PC and import them, so I could stay off main roads like interstates and find out of the way places. Also, at that time I used it for my music source as you can download music to an SD card. I have it...

HD STILL can't get their tune up right!

Made a few long distance trips with a good friend that had a Soft Tail Heritage with Cobra long shots. After maybe 40 min to hour following him I kindly requested he follow me. And I wear ear monitors to my comms. My question for some time has been, if loud pipes save lives, they point backwards...

How about this for a positive repair experience?!

Nice to hear something positive about folks.

What's the Benefit of pairing helmet intercoms to the bike?

I like being able to pair to the bike's radio. But my SENA SMH 10 seems to be against this, or maybe it's the bike, I have not decided. I tried for a couple of days to get the headset to pair to/with the bike while it was still paired to my phone. The only way I have been able to get it to work...

After Guidance/opinions on Passenger Arm Rests for F3-Limited?

I went with the first set linked. They look more OEM and some other rivco products I have had, the chrome rusted and peeled within a few years. AS for the heated passenger grips, you can just put a piece of heat shrink tube over the ends to keep things out. Or get some plugs that match and use...

Air Hawk vs Badass seat pads - will the cheaper Badass wear as well?

I use an air type cushion for a kayak. The wife bought a gel type pad I don't remember the name of now. She likes it on longer rides, although we have not had that opportunity on the Spyder yet.

    Reminiscing About Days Gone By...

Many times I'd be somewhere on my Victory. Say getting gas, and someone would say something like nice Harley. My response was usually, nope it the OTHER American motorcycle.

2023 F3-Limited Side Panels no longer Align - what's the trick, or what am I missing?

Looks OK to me. But if you want to see if you can even the step and gap up, loosen all 4 screws, get it where you want it, and snug up the screws at that end first.

I want to try a sticker on glossy RT paint, but worried about long-term affects...

I had scratch protector vinyl on my Victory. It was on there a long time like 5yr. Bike was black the protector was clear 3m. There was some discolor between covered and not areas.

What Budget Comms Systems are available/do you like?

You tube is a great place to find info as is the web. I found a site that had pics and description on how to wire in a plug for ear buds. I use in ear monitors, the act kind of like ear plugs to know out wind noise and have better sound than typical ear buds. I have seen some videos on changing...

    Is it Zumo time???

I am working on installing a secondary USB power port specifically for my GPS. I ran across a problem powering my GPS on my Victory. I had to install a 5V 3A converter. A standard USB port won't supply high enough amperage for my Garmin to stay operating. So what happens if it runs long enough...

Who here has or uses a Leatherman or equivalent?

I know this is really old thread. But I just ran across it. I have one of the original Leatherman that was issued to me back in probably 1983 or so. It has been with me almost every day since. I also have an older Gerber. I'd sooner leave my wallet at home than my multi tool.

Advice on mobile phone placement, what would work?

I have used RAM mounts for years. Sometimes you have to be inventive on how you're going to go about it. But they have holders for just about anything. I'll have to get a couple of pics of my arrangements for my XM Onyx, phone, and GPS.

Will a 2023 F3 fit on an open 6x12 UHaul Trailer with ramp?

If wheel wells were a problem, might be able to back in. That way the wide front is not passing them.

    How should I stack/alternate LED strip under-lighting?

I found the statute. While it doesnt specifically say you cant have blue on the sides, I really dont want to press that issue. It does say you cant have blue facing forward visibility. The greens came today, so I mauked up a blue and green strip stacked, didnt get the effect I was looking for. I...
