• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Urk... Frunk won't unlatch... Is this a common problem?

Don't feel badly - when I got my Spyder I really had no idea what I was doing. What feels obvious in retrospect, is often completely unexpected when it's all new. (I learned: don't ride with your foot on the brake, not even a little; and if it fails to start, there is a switch that cuts out the...

2025 Pulse and Origin Reveal - did they fail mileage hopes?

What I've read seems to say that if you put decent miles on a vehicle, EVs are better overall for the environment - but I've seen good cases made on both sides. I do think it's hard to compare a relatively new technology where we can continue to get more and more efficient, and create new...

Are Dealers 'dumping' New-Old-Stock Spyders instead of selling latest models?

In the past I would have thought that a nearly identical machine a year or two older, with a better price, would be a bargain. Now, my concern would be that it seems many dealerships only service for the first ten years, which would now be down to eight. At the very least, if you go with an...

Recommend any rides around Santa Fe after Labor Day?

I'd look at the Rever app, which has the Butler maps integrated into it. You'll do best planning and viewing on your computer. There are good rides not very far away. You can sign up to Rever for a month. It's worth the cost. When I tried to upload a screen shot the site just wouldn't do it...

Letting go of my 2014 RTL - what is the best way to sell?

A person-to-person sale will virtually always get you the best price, as any entity who intends on re-selling has to be able to mark it up to make the transaction and any work worthwhile. So, if you sell to a re-seller, you'll get less than it's worth to the eventual buyer. I suggest listing it...

Driving Practice, or Attempted Murder by Spyder?

Just one thought before purchasing a Spyder or Ryker of her own. As others have pointed out, sometimes those get very miles and it's likely because it's something they want to do for you, not for themselves. Make sure it's something she really wants for herself, not just to make you happy...

Helibars: Are they really Worth $629?

I tried risers first, but the angle just wasn't comfortable for my hands. The Helibars solved that issue, and there's a good chance I can use them on my next Spyder as well. If risers work, great. If not, how much is it worth to have a comfortable ride? NEVERMIND, JUST SAW THIS WAS AN OLD...

What do you think about long term use of Throttle enhancement products? Feedback?

As I understand it, all the device does is to tell the Spyder that the throttle is turned further than it really is - in theory, you can do the same thing if you have faster and more nimble wrists, so I can't see any potential damage from it. (That said, others may know differently.) Now...

Hands going numb some... Ideas why? Any fixes?

I will simply not ride without one of these (they have a number of different names, including Wrist Savers, I think), but they essentially allow you to not have to grip the throttle tightly and cost under $10: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09G2C32RH/ I also use a Pedal Commander, which allows me...

Thinking about buying a Can Am - looking for advice??

Agreed that he ought to be comfortable first, but there's no question in my mind that the ride two-up is where the advantages of the 1330 engine are most pronounced, and the only good way to evaluate that is to take a typical ride two-up. For me, there just wasn't enough power in the smaller...

Thinking about buying a Can Am - looking for advice??

I'm going to agree on doing a test ride with BOTH of you first. The difference between the 998 and 1330 shows up most when you are two-up, and the RTs were better built in general from 2014 forward. See if you can rent something to try for a day here: https://www.riders-share.com There is...

Is Purchasing a RT S 2015 with only 1,800 miles a good idea?

They seem to have a website dedicated to Mexico sales (https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/mx/es), and there is a FB group with 2,700 members for Spyder owners in Mexico. Tourist areas have jet skis and ATVs, so Can-Am has at least some meaningful presence. Mexico has varying climates, just like...

There seems to be an abundance of 2019 RT's selling - what gives?

I find the design of the 2020+ much more elegant than the earlier models and the much larger top case looks just right to my eyes (and it can be changed out for other options). The 2020+ feels more like a motorcycle, and less like a snowmobile in design, again, to my eyes. The auto leveling...

There seems to be an abundance of 2019 RT's selling - what gives?

The 2014-2019's were a very good run. Personally, I like the styling on the 2020-2024 much better, and it has a slightly more aggressive ride, but they aren't all that different. 13K miles is't a big deal at all, although you can easily spend a few dollars getting new tires in the not too...

New Owner of a 2022 Spyder RT - Trying to decide on navigation aids?

I have a larger iPhone and mount it in the center of my handlebars and manage all my navigation from there.

Considering 2023 or 2024 RT Sea-to-Sky - some questions to help me decide/commit??

I had a 2014, and loved my upgrade to a 2020 - essentially identical to the 2023. It's a similar but better ride, and it looks a lot better as an added bonus.

    No Competition for Can Am

I'm more concerned that they have a profitable market (and provide good service in return). With the RT, the two major changes were real upgrades, and I'm sure we will see a fourth model in a few years. I'd rather they keep their system simple and keep making Spyders. Fix what might need...

What could be the reason Bluetooth is disconnected? I'm so sad.

When I first purchased my current RT-L in 2020, I gave up on using the BRP interface on day two or three - it was just far too unstable, badly designed, and lacked much of what I needed. I mount my phone to my handlebars and run that to my helmet, and it's a far better option for me in the real...

'22 RT glove box USB won't charge iPhone as GPS - any work around?

Sometimes, occasionally, it's worth asking what might sound like a silly question. Can I assume the phone's screen and speaker are "off" (and you are using the BRP Connect)? That seems to be most of the drain. If some people are taking about the screen being on, and others not, that is large...

Spyder owners are stuck up - why is this so?? Please explain...

Just one thought to add, the nature of riding a Spyder is that unless you are on a straightway, sometimes it's just too difficult to take your hands off the handlebars to wave. As to the rest of it, I wouldn't judge a group this large by the few riders who came to one specific ride.
