• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, you just “know” in your own mind when the time is right, Triple B. I am happy that I was able to make to call of my own free will and not had it forced on me 👍 Pete

Will a pre-load after market rear shock replace the need for the air bag?

For the rear, not once you get it in place, Troop. I’m sure there would be some tool that would allow you to adjust the collar in its awkward position, but since I was only ever going to use position 2 (medium), I didn’t bother looking for it. For the fronts, yes the collar is accessible. I...

Will a pre-load after market rear shock replace the need for the air bag?

Wow… that is a good price, Troop. They are a good, solid unit, just without all the bells and whistles of Elka and Wilbers. Only a soft, medium, and hard setting. I ran mine on medium and found it performed every bit as well as the Wilbur’s I had on my F3... and I spent weeks trying to adjust...

Will a pre-load after market rear shock replace the need for the air bag?

…and shipping cost, Ron! Don’t forget the shipping cost from Oz to US. Lamont’s bolt kit to keep the mirrors on was pretty small. About $20 for the kit, and $80 shipping. I’d hate to think what an individual rear shock would cost! Pete

Do other Short people have an issue reaching the 2025 RT Sea to Sky brake pedal?! What are others like me doing?

Just by way of “confusion reduction” for those newbies with ‘20+ RT, Albec is referring to an F3, not the ‘20+ RT mentioned by the OP. There is no need for any left side adjustment on the ‘20+ RT. On the F3, if you move the right side pegs/floorboards forward or back from the stock “position...

Do other Short people have an issue reaching the 2025 RT Sea to Sky brake pedal?! What are others like me doing?

Ahhhhh. Good to see there is now another adjustment option besides Lamont’s riser, Gwolf. Pete

Do other Short people have an issue reaching the 2025 RT Sea to Sky brake pedal?! What are others like me doing?

I had no issue reaching the brake pedal on my ‘20 RT, Elembytes. Oh, wait... it depends on what you call short! 😆 Sorry, couldn’t help myself now that you have an answer. 😆 😆 Pete

Do other Short people have an issue reaching the 2025 RT Sea to Sky brake pedal?! What are others like me doing?

I don’t know that the F3 “rod change” works on the ‘20+ RT, Gwolf... the pedal is connected differently. Pete

Will a pre-load after market rear shock replace the need for the air bag?

As per James Thorne’s comment above, I had no need of the airbag in my ‘21 RT after I installed an aftermarket (Ikon) shock. Pete

Any Help or Tricks for getting the trunk off rear cover on/off? Is it normally this hard??

Great to hear, Dawn. I was skeptical when this was first suggested to me (can’t remember by who), but it worked for me. 👍 Pete

Thanks Peter. Yes, your generosity saved me a significant amount of effort and $, for which I remain extremely grateful. I managed to pass the Daylong on to another “significant” sized RT rider at 6’6 and 300 lbs, so our legacy lives on. Are you still “seasonally relocating”? Pete

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

You shouldn’t have to have it done on your ‘22, fulltimer. That is outside the affected manufacture dates😉 Pete

Any Help or Tricks for getting the trunk off rear cover on/off? Is it normally this hard??

100% correct, Dawn. It’s a tight fit. They don’t want it blowing off. I would suggest trying a silicon lubricant on the prongs before cutting into your cover though - that is a bit radical. A silicon lubricant has worked in 4 cases that I know of. Pete

Any Help or Tricks for getting the trunk off rear cover on/off? Is it normally this hard??

Dawn, the solution is to spray a little silicon lubricant inside the prongs at the end of the cover’s arms. This lets them slide on and seat fairly easily. I know, because I always think - “bugger, I forgot the spray and I can’t be bothered getting it”, and seating is very difficult as I...

Onya Bill... Keep on keeping on. Yes, it wasn’t my age per se (I’m only 74, not an Old Bugger like you😆😆), but a combination of issues. If I still had my original riding group, and the roads weren’t as terrible as they are, I would have hoped to ride on into my 90s. There’s a member of one of...

    I am now Spyderless

Yeah, it’s a combination, OldAge. We are moving 500kms to a new town (downsizing), and it only has a 2 car garage (no room for a Spyder). I have lost a bit of interest in riding as none of my close riding group of 3 are riding much any more, and the poor roads make riding less enjoyable solo. It...

Unfortunately for you all, I plan on doing exactly as you and AR have done, Jim. I’ll pop up from time to time if I think I can help someone out, or maybe just to “take the piss” out of Americans simply for the hell of it. 😉😆😆😆😆 This is a great group of people, with one or two exceptions (but I...

    I am now Spyderless

Unfortunately, the time has come. I am not riding enough (for a variety of reasons) to justify keeping the RT. It is a sad day after some 50+ years of riding (11 of which was on Spyders), but it had to be done. One of the major reasons is that the state of the roads on the mid north coast have...
