• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any problems connecting GPS direct to battery?

Yes. If you feel comfortable with running a wire (a double wire both positive and negative) directly off the battery up to a location where you can connect your GPS, then by all means go that route. For double protection, I would also run that fused wire through a "loom wire wrap". Good luck...

    Anybody add a bumper guard?

There isn't much you can do to protect the front of your spyder other than watching where you're going. If you see an object in your path coming at you that you can't avoid, try to take it on directly under your foot and not dead center it. There isn't a lot you can do in the last half second...

Need some screws for Left Combo switch - part number?

I added a mount to my left "combo switch" and needed longer screws than the OEM screws. I went to Ace Hardware and found exactly what I needed.

Riders Share - has anyone tried or rented their bike out ?

The only person I've allowed to drive my spyder was my wife, while I was a passenger with her. I showed her how to start it and how to shut it off. We took a short drive on the streets in a vacant subdivision so she could feel how the spyder handled. I only did this in case something happened...

HowTo: Making my own baffles for 22 F3S Cat delete

I've run baffles in and out front and back and highly modified my current 2bros muffler to my satisfaction. I run stage II and it's just my opinion that the spyder's computer is smarter than all of us put together. Whatever you do to your ride that computer is going to watch out for you and...

Which upgrade would you do first ?

Squared Away Laser Alignment. Possibly the best thing I ever did. Ann showed me one side was 2 1/2" out of alignment. Followed up later with Ron's sway bar.

Can-Am does some things right, others not so much

What's not to understand? It's the bean counter thing. Keep costs down and profits up and we all fall for it. I did, you did, we all did. The Spyder will never be one of the top 3 machines I've ever owned. It just became a necessity if I wanted to continue riding. It could've just as easily been...

Can-Am does some things right, others not so much

It's the young up'starts and some ol'farts who want the newest techie stuff. I relish the wind in my face and the feeling of freedom when I ride. If it wasn't for the need of that dam 3rd wheel, I would've never bought a spyder. JMHO

New side panel “fake” post replacements needed

I've had my side panels off and on I don't know how many times and I haven't had any issues with them. I spit on them to easily pop them back in and I've never had them break off or otherwise come loose unless I pop them off.

Advice on mobile phone placement, what would work?

Sorry, I didn't even ask so I don't know. Whatever it will be I'm sure it will be the fairest available. I haven't made my decision on exactly which phone I'm getting yet so I haven't ordered the mount yet. I'm sure Dave will give me the best price out there because that's what he's known for...

Advice on mobile phone placement, what would work?

I'm also being forced to retire my old cell phone and I'm having to swap out my old mounting system too. I just talked to MotorcycleDave on the phone (landline) yesterday and I'm going to have him send me the Trackform listed above to fit the new larger Android 24. Good luck. You'd be hard...

Look before you leap - sometimes, not everything is in the first box opened!!

This is a very good lesson to apply to many other aspects of life. By all means, put it to good use and use it often.
