• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

Luckily in my neck of the woods, I found a BRP certified tech mechanic who left a local dealership and opened his own service shop. I always tip him with a couple of 6-packs of soft drinks or several bottles of Gatorade. I've even brought him lunch when he couldn't get away from all the work...

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

"The owner shouldn't have to know more about their ride than the dealership." I've always felt that BRP's inept dealership service departments may become the primary demise of their spyder line of products.

Made my own Phone mount for my 22 F3 Limited

Phone mounts and cup holders are akin to the mousetrap theory. Nice work GapRider.

Is there a USB Port available to fit the space in the dash?

Yep, that's it. I put one in mine.

How likely are Gang encounters on the road?

Do Not antagonize, I've seen it happen and the response is generally twofold. Stay to yourselves be courteous and polite and you will pretty much go unnoticed. If you're in distress, broken down, or need help, they may stop and assist. All bikers, in-law out-law big or small, grubby or clean all...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Yes, that's what I thought because that is where I suck out the oil for my analysis tests.

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Hey Peter.........When checking our oil level with the dipstick, which oil are we looking at? The dirtier oil or the cleaner oil? I'm guessing it's the cleaner oil. Correct?

What's the easiest way of Lubing rear bag cables on '21 RTL?

Yes, that's pretty much how it works. I used it a lot on my dirt bikes but never had to use it on my spyder. I'm guessing that getting to one end or the other on a spyder's cable would be the most difficult part. Also, the spyder's cable housing may be a bit smaller in diameter than a dirt bike...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

I've done a couple of oil analyses and have been changing at 10K. Now I'm shooting for 12K. All tests have been using Amsoil 10W40 and Ron's standard filters.

Looking at buying - If you are over 80 y/o and ride a Spyder, raise your hand...

I don't think they have spyders in heaven or hell so grab all the riding time you can while you're here. LMHO

When you put your Spyder up on 3 ramps, do you lose the back one?

Has anyone here ever dropped their Spyder off a ramp or lift and will admit to doing so? Or had a service department drop their Spyder? I had a dealership service department drop my Yamaha Venture off a lift and smash the hell out of one side and part of the top side. It was in for service on...

2015 RTS SE6 Fast Crank, no start, no fuel - fuel blockage maybe? Any Help?

No spark, if you didn't get a couple of fires with starting fluid. Like Mikey said check the fuses and if all is good, I'd trailer it to a qualified repair shop. Diagnostics is your next best move. These things can be a real headache if you don't have the proper equipment and knowledge to...

2015 RTS SE6 Fast Crank, no start, no fuel - fuel blockage maybe? Any Help?

Give it a tiny shot of starting fluid and see if it fires. Just give it a bit; too much and you can hurt it.

Yes, if mom isn't happy, nobody's happy.

Anybody purchased Slingmods 5-piece RT Touring Bag bundle?

Just the saddle bags. They keep stuff from getting caught in the hinges. Gravity helps load the frunk and trunk and it doesn't cost anything.

Aluma Trailer - Anyone done Hub Maintenance?

Your hi-temp grease may solve the problem but if not pop out the seal(s) and bearings and take them to an auto parts store and get new seals. You have no idea how old those seals could be. Good luck.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

HA! remember the cow magnets? My wife was the DMV girl for a dealership back then. My son was about 5 five years old and she gave him all the cow magnets that came in on cars as trade-ins on new vehicles. He had a string of them longer than he was tall. LOL Oh, don't forget the deer whistles...
