• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

an unobtainable pipe dream for raising my RT

I've done it, but the Spyder is not stable as it wants to move sideways and cause the jack to tip over. There's no easy way to lock the front wheels in place to make the bike more steady.

How many of you have had Parking Brake motor failures?

BRP replaced a lot of PBMs in the early 2014 models because they wouldn't hold. Mine has worked OK since it was replaced back in 2015 or '16.

    Random thought for the day

How did the world survive? The Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Boeing 707, Apollo spaceship, and on & on all built with the 3 digit accuracy of a slide rule! Now kids think if you don't have at least a 10 digit result it ain't no good! :dontknow:

What Rear Axle Nut Wrench are you using?

Just exactly what do you mean? Since the nut has to turn clockwise to tighten, if the bottom section of it has more friction against the swing arm than does the top section that friction will tend to make the nut and axle move forward. There really isn't enough room to point the wrench any way...

What Rear Axle Nut Wrench are you using?

Read this thread to see the problem I have had in getting the alignment just right. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?90848-Belt-Alignment-Problem-amp-Question&highlight=belt+alignment. Maybe your dealer was dealing with the same issue, i.e., the axle moving while torquing the nut.

No way to miss - so which tire to hit it with?

It just dawned on me the OP was probably referring to "road gators", i.e., tire remnants. Since he is in Louisiana and since there are lots of 'gators, the reptile variety, down there that is what came to mind first. But, my comment is just as valid with regard to road gators as well as the...

What Rear Axle Nut Wrench are you using?

No way to miss - so which tire to hit it with?

If it's a young 'gator and lying parallel to your direction of travel, and no way to go around, then that's your best option. If it's a 6 ft plus gator, you're in deep doo doo if you can't go around it! You're going to hit it with at least two tires. Better make sure you're caught up on your...

What experiences have you had with Lithium Batteries?

What I found doing a Google search about storing lithium batteries in temperatures below 32°F is that will shorten their life significantly. Recommendation is don't do it. 32°F is cited as a specific number, not an approximation. Of course storing, IMO, doesn't mean letting it sit for days or...

Anyone had problems with their Left Headlight Assy? Ideas?

I should have mentioned that has been noted as a problem, but always with LED bulbs. When you said you tried three different bulbs I assumed the other bulbs were incandescent so polarity would not be a problem. But with the circuit board involved I guess it could. And you know what happens when...

Anyone had problems with their Left Headlight Assy? Ideas?

Try plugging the right side harness into the left light as you propose. It's the same with the exception that the left plug has a jumper that keeps the filaments powered when the headlight is in lo beam mode. The circuit board could have crapped out but this would be the first such instance...

How can I clear warnings from the dash? 2011 RTS

Is that the way it is on the ST? On the RT, up thru 2017, you push mode and set at the same time and hold, then push turn signal cancel.

    Random thought for the day

The comparison of the pics is both funny, and not funny. When I was about 6 years old I was standing up in the back of the pickup my teenage brother was driving. We went around a curve about 300 feet from the house, when, you guessed it, I flew out over the side. After I cleaned the gravel off...

Why do I need to hold the Fog Light switch to keep them on?

And the benefit of all that is you've just proved you are human! :2thumbs:

Why do I need to hold the Fog Light switch to keep them on?

I think federal regulations prohibit having fog lights on when high beams are on. Most all of us ignore that requirement when we add fog lights, but the factory is not allowed to do that.

2023 RT exhaust sounds tinny - is this normal?

At least it's not a Goldwing. With one of them you can ride up behind a guy and bump him in the butt before he knows you're there! :hun:

Anyone interested in the spyderstore.com Domain?

The reason I like using them is you just push it on. To remove you push & hold the hose toward the valve and then just grasp the sleeve and pull. No locking levers to mess with!

Imported RS to Europe - any advice on getting CoC?

Surely the Dutch import regulations have provisions to address this kind of situation, don't they? You can't be the first one to deal with this issue.

Do I really need to replace the DESS & ignition for key replacement.- 2014 RT-S?

Yes they can. Different key security system than 2014 & later.

Do I really need to replace the DESS & ignition for key replacement.- 2014 RT-S?

Are you sure it works to start the Spyder? From 2014 on no one has been able to clone a chip key that will start the Spyder. Or did things change in 2020 or later? Or was the DESS turned off on your bike. If it was turned off then you don't need a chip key.
