• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My RT622 with Class 1 cooler basket on the rear of the trailer!

I see two concerns. One is you may have problem getting a 60/40 weight distribution in front/rear of the axle. That will affect handling and tracking. Second, being that far behind the axle any movement up and down of the tires, and subsequently the trailer body, will be multiplied. You know...

Imagine you are on your Spyder when this happens

There are three places you never want to be on the road; behind a semi, alongside a semi, and in front of semi. This is stressed in "No Zone" training, i.e., riding your motorcycle in the vicinity of a semi. If you need to pass a semi get in the other lane, stay back and wait for space to open...

Questioning wearing Ear Plugs while riding

There is also an aging brain issue involved. A discussion I heard a few years ago discussed the fact that as we get older our brains lose the capacity to filter sounds. In younger years it can filter out the noise and concentrate on the sound of interest. In later years it is less capable of...

Did a little experimenting with MPGs

In contrast, the summer I kept close tabs on MPG some of my best was going over the Rocky Mountains and some of my worst was in Louisiana at sea level! Go figure!

Just replaced my Original Yuasa Battery with another after 7 years!

A battery tender isn't for just cold weather. It's to keep a battery fully charged whenever it sits unused for an extended time period. Also, hot weather will kill a battery quicker than does cold weather.

Questioning wearing Ear Plugs while riding

This is a good time to share this. Peter has a visit with his doctor and asks him, "Doc, my wife's hearing is getting bad. What can I do to get an idea just how bad it is?" "Well, sometime when she's doing something with her back turned toward you stand back about 15 feet and ask her a...

Inquiring minds want to know.... will '23 RT brake pedal fit earlier models?

Looking at the parts diagrams again I see the Rocker, the shaft the pedal attaches to, has been changed since 2020. So maybe if you buy the rocker and pedal you can get what you you want.

Inquiring minds want to know.... will '23 RT brake pedal fit earlier models?

Judging from the parts diagrams the two pedals are the same shape.

Inquiring minds want to know.... will '23 RT brake pedal fit earlier models?

Double check the parts diagrams! When I look at the hydraulic brake parts diagram for the 2020 RT it shows the same number as for the 2023 with a notation that it replaces the ....1786 part. The fit on the 2023 may have been some other change in configuration, say like the floorboard. Go back...

REPORT: How my Fuel gauge works - MPG's per bar

Your observation is right in line with what I wrote about here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?154908-Gas-Gauge-showing-Full-when-tank-is-not-Why&p=1675379&viewfull=1#post1675379. If you imagine two invisible bars at the top and one at the bottom, then the progression of bars...

Anyone have the garage door opener from foxtrot4x4?

Even if they are out of business now Google should find something about them, unless they are really old, or really scarce. Maybe foxtrot was a private label stuck onto a more common opener and didn't sell enough to make a measurable presence in the market. If the brand is in fact really rare...

High beams not coming on when selected or flashed - any ideas?

Scratched my answer. Not sure if the ST uses shutters or not and I discussed the headlight shutter of the RT.

Anyone have the garage door opener from foxtrot4x4?

You need to double check the name and model of the opener. A search on Google for foxtrot 4x4 garage door opener turns up zilch, nada, nothing!

Any Tips for reducing road trip costs?

About 30 years ago when I moved to Louisiana from Illinois I stayed in a hotel for several weeks while house hunting. I did the same as many of you for meals, including cold or frozen dinners, etc. I had a hot plate and styro cooler in the room. After about 6 weeks or so I added up the cost of...

What's the Best camera choice for 2019 RTL and 2023 S2S; & mount point?

I'm somewhat of a contrarian, but my idea of the best camera is none. I used a GoPro for a few trips several years ago. My negativism toward them stems from a few factors. First, miles and miles, and minutes of minutes, of video looking down the road in front of the vehicle gets to be boring to...

My headlight plastic is turning white!! Any way to fix this??

My observation has been that headlight lens universally on almost all vehicles tend to haze. IMO, NHTSA years ago should have mandated all headlight lens be made of glass. Glass presents no hazing problem. Or at the very least they should mandate the use of only specific plastic chemistry that...
