• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

Have it tested. It's the only way to get beyond guessing. We've had customers who had their oil tested every 1,000 miles. That really tells the story. Not suggesting you do that. They were getting it done for free through their work. But testing at oil change can be very informative.

Not a Spyder Ryde, and not my ride either, but check out some of Australia's Great Ocean Road on a 1972 Honda CB750!

I put 55k on my beloved '71' CB750. It was mint condition. I kept it in tip top shape. I made memorable trips from my home in San-Diego to Kansas City and several other long distance rides. This is the bike on which I rebuilt the shift tumbler assembly coming back from Eugene, Oregon, on the...

Changed the oil, now stuck in Limp Mode, Code P0524! What's wrong??

It is possible that the startup took too long to supply sufficient oil pressure, thus tripping the code. As long as you are using a 5/40 or 10/40 oil, you might want to try again. Assuming the system is now charged, pressure should come up quickly.

Not a Spyder Ryde, and not my ride either, but check out some of Australia's Great Ocean Road on a 1972 Honda CB750!

I had a 71. Great bike! I wonder if she knew about the petcock reserve lever when she ran out of fuel. Probably another 20-30 miles there.

Changed the oil, now stuck in Limp Mode, Code P0524! What's wrong??

I agree with Woodaddict. An oil change should not create a Limp Home Mode unless there was no oil pressure. More information please...

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

I'm not saying that Amsoil is the only product that will go 10k in the Spyder while maintaining an excellent viscosity. It's just the only one we've tested extensively that has. It would be fun to do a genuine comparrison using various lubricants with real machines running in realistic...

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

With the 10/40 Amsoil, we recommend sevice intervals at 10k. After testing our own and several customer's oil with great results, we settled on this number for the same reason. Very easy to remember. Testing the BRP XPS oil, we consitantly find it shearing down to 20 weight between 5,000 &...

Any foreseeable problems or concerns with this Trailer Hitch Suspension?

Very interesting concept. If it works as intended, it should make for a better ride. Both for the bike and the trailer. I'm wondering what the friction component will be at speed. Greasing the shaft would be an option, but messy. I would go with a very thin layer of clear, fully synthetic grease...

Can anyone explain the Belt Alignment Procedure for a '22 RTL? Any videos?

Remember that alignment is only 1/2 the battle. You will need to get tension correct as well.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

Thank you for the feedback @Cobranut. You are exactly right. There are a lot of 'Good' welders. But there is another level which really does approach art. Though the beauty is not so much visual. It is, none the less, pretty amazing. It's a shame that it takes another welder to really appreciate...

Anyone identify this exhaust system? (And how do I quiet it down?)

Yoshimura makes some very good sounding slipon's with a universal mount. That is what I am using.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#15 - A Pipe Dream. In the late 80’s, engineers laid out a plan to punch a $13-million, 6,300-foot-long tunnel through Cowles Mountain in Mission Trails Park, as part of a 60-mile water pipeline project for the San Diego County Water Authority. People were grateful that officials chose to bore...

Is the Alternator shaft squeal just a nuisance, or is it damaging anything?

Some Lithium batteries do have a 'Sleep' mode if the voltage gets too low. This is designed to conserve what energy remains. But this is a condition addressed while charging, not by turning the ignition on. Specific chargers have a 'Wake Up' sequence that sends boosted voltage to the battery in...

F3-S pulls to the right - could the sway bar install have done this? Is it easy to re-align myself?

The sway bar is completely neutral when running stright ahead if no lean is introduced. So a sway bar has no effect on alignment when running this way. The sway bar does affect alignment on the Spyder because the double A-Arm suspension alters alignment anytime lean is induced. By limiting...

Anybody see a measurable change in fuel mileage with larger diameter rear tire?

A larger tire increases traction and can give you a greater MPH range in each gear. Assuming you don't have to gear for the added dimenision.
