• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can Am plaque on the F3

My wife asked me to remove that "Can-AM" logo minutes after we took delivery! Then, we had the 2 cowls painted satin black to better fit the paint scheme of the F3. It looks so much cleaner now.

What's the deal with the back tire wearing out so fast?

Good advice......i made that same error with the RT tires.

    F3 Fender Swap

We did the white fenders on my wife's F3 (just had them painted). We also prefer the simpler fender on the non-S version. Consider painting the silver scoops black, too. Without the "Can-Am" enblem, the black fits the bike better than the silver.

    Did I get deleted....

I don't know (or care) who used the term "death wish" for someone desiring to ride an F3 very fast. There are MANY people out there that would say anyone who even rides a CA or motorcycle at all (at any speed) has a death wish. Speed alone, seldom kills; speeding in the wrong situation is a...

anyone have a position 5 brake rod, to trade for a position 3?

You need to clarify the way you number the positions. Is 5 for long legs and 3 is factory position?

    0-60 or quarter mile results??

I've had a few people ask me what my wife's F3 will do 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile. I've not been able to see either of these numbers published anywhere. My guess is about 4.5s 0-60 and maybe a 13.5 1/4 mile. Anyone have a link to some actual facts??

Using 6th gear over drive correctly and vibration

Not true at all.....vibration IS NOT rpm-related!

thank you for the vib warning

The vibes on my wife's are speed-related, not rpm-related, so waiting to shift doesn't matter. Look at the engine's tq curve......you aren't bogging if you shift well below 70 mph!

    break fluid

Fairly simple as far as brake fluid goes......replace your fluid with some high-temp fluid (Motul, Castrol, Valvoline Syn, etc.) I'd also look into your braking habits. Are you on the brakes for long periods of time or do you hit them hard and late which is the best way to keep the heat down...

Things I do for you people... (Dynojet/Power Commander Saga)

What AFRs are you inputting? Are you going to lean out the AFRs in the 5-20% range for the best? I'm assuming DynoJet wants maps to give to those that don't want to buy AutoTune. The whole point to AT is that you don't need maps. AT will create "maps" for you as you accept the trims dependent...

    Blue Ridge observations

My wife did a 5 mile trial with the BR shield and said she'd much rather have no shield at all. Installed a 14" Madstad and she loves it! The various adjustments allow her to completely block the wind, get a good airflow on a hot ride, or any combo between those two. Zero buffeting reported by her.

    Odd problem posting pix here

In another thread that I started on this forum I attached 2 pix. Other members responded that the pix are not viewable. I can see both pix perfectly on the computer I started the thread with, but I, too, cannot view the pix from another computer. This has never happened to me before. What did I...

Did some painting to better balance the color scheme:

I don't get what's happening here. The pix show up on the computer that I started the thread with (the one I'm on now). However, if I go to this forum via my ipad, there are no pix with this thread. Can somebody explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

    Shifting

Your shift rpm depends on your rate of acceleration and/or your desired rate. Moving at a leisurely rate (not speed), the engine has adequate tq to shift at only 2500 rpm. However, as your rate (not speed) increases, shifting as high as the redline is in order. As long as the engine oil ( not...

Did some painting to better balance the color scheme:

We ordered a pearl white F3, but decided the colors on the bike needed some "help". We had the wheels powdercoated a dark gray and added black lugs vs the chrome it came with. Also, powdercoated the muffler black. We removed the "Can-Am" logo and painted the upper covers black vs the original...

We went with amber LEDs and think it looks very good and more noticeable.
