• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I love my F3 s but....... The wind buffeting is awful! Anyone else? Solutions?

It took 5 mins. to drill new holes to put shield back to original height with new bracket. The new bracket is a good improvement.

    Button under co-pilot seat

It changes the fuel map based on weight???? That would mean that if I weigh 150 and my wife weighs 100, it will change the map. But, it doesn't change the map for a 250 pound solo rider which is the same weight as our 150 + 100? It would really surprise me to see the fuel map changed based on...

    Passenger switch

Good question. We're about to take a long trip and plan to carry a large bag on the F3.

Anyone making a shortened or adjustable Brake linkage?

I lowered the pedal right after we got it home. You don't have to shorten the rod; you just have to drill another mounting hole. It was a quick and easy way to lower the pedal. There are pix somewhere on this forum. Here's a link...

    F3 temperature sensor

Agreed. Sensor is for ambient temp. There is no reason for the rider to know otherwise.

    F3 temperature sensor

Our ambient temp readings on the F3 are very accurate, but slow in adjusting to changes. (the RT was just plain wrong all the time) It is usually within 1 degree of my Indian or weather station temps. (it takes at least 5 mins to adjust after leaving the garage)

    Switched from 2012 RSS SE5 to 2015 F3S SE6

Well written! RPM is situational and sometimes redline is the best choice for the situation.

    Switched from 2012 RSS SE5 to 2015 F3S SE6

I bet their is NO evidence to back that up! Modern engines can be revved all day long with virtually no ill affects. Ask a racer, an engine builder, BRP, etc. The rev limiter will protect the engine to BRP's satisfaction and warranty.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

My wife refers to hers as the "F3".

When I first read your post I thought that somehow your butt had a condition called sheepskin that made you sit a bit higher!!!

    F3 windshield options

My wife went with the Madstad and loves the adjustability. There were days on her RT that she suffered in the summer heat due to too much protection from it's huge shield. The Madstad with it's newer brackets has proven to be the best of all worlds in terms of protection as needed.

That's the phrase I questioned from post #9.

    Switched from 2012 RSS SE5 to 2015 F3S SE6

I do not feel that shifting at redline is the best way to operate our ride, and, in fact, it hasn't been to redline so far. But.....I don't see anything wrong with doing that if one so chooses. That's why I was curious as to the "lots of reasons" you say that it is unwise to shift at redline...

    Switched from 2012 RSS SE5 to 2015 F3S SE6

What are the "lot of reasons" it is unwise to shift at redline? Fuel economy is all that comes to mind and that is outweighed by the fun factor for many. As long as your oil temps (not just water temps) are up, redline shifts will have virtually no effect on engine life.

Does the RS have the 1330 engine?

F3 Auto or Manual-which is faster

Not sure that's a "fact". I'd agree if it were a DCT or a PDK, but I don't believe it is a dual clutch. Additionally, you can do full throttle (no lift) shifts with the manual whereas the semi will cut the rpm at each shift. I was the overall RT drag champion at the 2012 Spyderfest and no semi...

Winter mods on my wife's F3:

The process is as simple as drilling another mounting hole for the brake shaft. Do a search and you'll find another forum member that showed it all with pix. I think someone now offers an adjustable shaft for this purpose that would mean no drilling at all. Very nice mod. She doesn't have to...

Winter mods on my wife's F3:

No holes under it. I just heated it up with a hair dryer and used some fishing line behind the letters to cut through the adhesive tape. I prefer a cleaner, uncluttered look on vehicles, so I often de-badge them.
