• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Now to try out something a bit different. One person posts a photo, then another person posts a photo based on a association they see with the first... your post should be in response to the post directly above yours and contain a Spyder, motorbike or associated gear. Put a couple of words at...

Zumo 660 can't be trusted in my opinion

Not sure if this trick will work in the US but worked well here for my Zumo 590. I assume the 660 has similar settings. Using Basecamp I selected Options from the Edit menu and selected the Active Profile, then clicked on the Routing tab. I set the Route Preference to Faster Time (it was on...

How long do brake pads last

In my case around 25,000km for the back and 50,000km+ for the front. Lots of twisty and hilly roads + tourists driving on the wrong side of the road (unfortunately very common). So lots of braking - don't really have what you'd call highways here:-) As others have said it really depends on...

    Rough idle

Some good answers here already so I'll try not to repeat those. Two extra things do come to mind. Fuel Filter, has it ever been replaced? Though normally that would be more of an issue at higher revs under load. Air Filter - there was a thread recently about someone finding fibre glass...

    Rear left fender support broke

Not a recall, some owners have managed to get theirs replaced outside of warranty but others (like me) have not. Seems to be at the whim of whoever picks up the phone at BRP. Depending on where they have cracked then they can normally be welded back up and at the same time strengthened -...

    hurting butt

Have you tried cycling shorts, the ones with padding in them? Obviously worn under your motorbike pants. Several of the long distance riders I know swear by them, not only for the extra padding but because they are designed to be comfortable in a sitting position etc - well that's not exactly...

Ditto until I joined this site. I have a 'bell' to keep the demons away, its the alarm on my radar detector;-)

How many here are constantly hitting the Nanny Speed limit on curves

Reading through your earlier posts in this thread with the sideways comments etc I was thinking its the tires loosing grip. Of course once that happens nanny kicks in but its not the cause. When I took a F3 out on a test ride with stock tires I did find it easy to overwelm the tires when in the...

    neat bikes I saw

The same night mine went missing two guys I knew also had their brit bikes stolen. All of them were well secured and parked off road. They caught the gang a few months later. Apparently they would pick the bikes up and stuff them in the back of a freezer van, then take them to a container to...
