• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 Spyder RS won't stay in 2nd gear - any ideas?

I'm guessing from your description that your having to hold your foot up under the gear lever when its in second but don't have to do this with any of the other gears. If it was oil type was wrong in the past I'd expect you'd to notice the clutch slipping in all gears rather than a single gear...

Do you think dealerships should offer some compensation/discounts ??

A dealer here told me last Oct they had just three 2021 left and that they'd just been told that it was unlikely any 2022 Spyders would be coming into the country. Imagine being a dealer and finding you'd have no stock to sell for a year. They had also got far less seadoos than they had...

    HowTo: F3T Handlebar Mirrors

Very elegant solution and the design you picked for both the arms and the mirrors really works. Looking at that you do have to wonder why Can-am continue to persist with bodywork mounted mirrors when they have never really done the job.

Power / USB switched vs unswitched?

This is how I did the ram mounts. It was pretty simple to do as the whole dash surround comes off so easily and so I could work it all out off the Spyder. The plastic is nice and strong at this point so no flex. You just have to make sure the bolts don't foul with how the panels fit together...

Power / USB switched vs unswitched?

Yep I don't know why Can-am think we're so besotted with our elbows:-) The RS was even worse. Last couple of years I've started to need reading glasses so I got a pair of safety glasses with a bifocal bit at the bottom for riding the Spyder. Last checkup my distance vision has started to go so...

Power / USB switched vs unswitched?

On my RS I ran my own circuit from the battery to power the GPS & radar detector as well as having a usb (for phone charging) and cigarette socket (for running tire pump). I mounted a switch on the dash to turn the circuit on and off, they were also each fused separately. I liked having these...

    Waving from the wrong side...

Raised left hand, normally in relaxed manner unless you know the other rider then its a bigger wave...or possibly just head lift if in a corner etc.

Installation of Garmin XT - which acc circuit for key on hot?

Yep same wire used here, its a bit annoying that it only works when the engine is running rather than just having the ignition on but at least the XT has a reasonable battery. The one on my 590 used only last a couple of minutes.

This is how I still have Dry feet!

For those who are looking for completely waterproof motorcycle boots I've got to say Sidi Adventure 2 boots are excellent. Super comfortable, the clips make them really easy to put on/off and they are completely waterproof. Since getting them I've ridden through all seasons, even after one...

What's everyone wearing for Riding Jackets?

The old Hien Gericke one in my profile pic when I'm just nipping out to the shops or going to work. For proper riding a Klim Kodiak (gore-tex pro).

Does Eco mode really make a difference?

My guess is Eco mode is primarily there so Can-am can meet, or appear to meet, the regulatory requirements of certain countries or states. It gives a 'green credential' that can be used to deflect questions on environmental impact. Its also something that with modern electronically controlled...

Change the Brake Fluid & quoted $780.60 - Any suggestions?

If your not happy doing it yourself may be worth checking the price with a local brakes specialist rather than a Can-am dealer. I got one local to me to do both brake and clutch fluid (I had a manual RS), replace rear brake pads and generally check everything was good and they were very...

Throttle delay - can it be fixed by BUDS? Or Pedal Commander?

Thanks for all the replies. @MrMagicFingers - Doesn't seem to be an issue with the older Spyders like your RTS 2010 and my old RS 2011 but seems to be the case with F3's, probably doesn't bother most owners but the sort of riding I do its noticeable. @RayBJ/RICZ/Sydermon - Reason shipping is...

Throttle delay - can it be fixed by BUDS? Or Pedal Commander?

F3-L 2017 I've noticed when overtaking that there is a slight delay when opening up the throttle and the power being delivered - about long enough for me to say "Come on, Come ON":-). The mate on a bike I was riding with said "Watching you pass is like watching one of those hand held missile...

What Are Your Favorite Bluetooth Ear Buds? Late Model Spyder Owners...

I use Bose Quiet Control 30 wireless. These are the collar type but I find that works better as the battery lasts much longer and the ear part is smaller so easier under a helmet. If the earbud comes out as your taking off your helmet its not going to fall on the ground as its attached to a...

New member looking at a 2012 RS S.

Yep they are pricy here in NZ, though once you've got one the one advantage is that at least they keep their value. NZ dealers are really struggling to get new stock from Can-am. One I spoke to wasn't sure if they would get any shipments of Spyders in 2022, they had struggled to get seadoos as...

New member looking at a 2012 RS S.

By the time I look a look at the Trademe listing it had already disappeared, so comments from the details above: 21,000 is pretty low mileage for these so no worries there. Though the official service interval is 7,500km I used to service mine at 5,000km as well because these are a high...

    New Zealand's TT2000 in 2022

Some here will know that I’m an iron butt nut and of all the rides I do the definite highlight of my year is the annual TT2000. This year there was writeup in a local paper that will gives a good background of what is involved...

Anyone used one of these Fuel Bladders

You can do the South Island in a weekend - that is what I'm doing this weekend, well 3,890km of it:-)

Anyone used one of these Fuel Bladders

@askitee Thanks to your post I ended up getting one of those. I've got an iron butt this weekend and not had a chance to fit the Aux tank I had on my RS to the F3 (its harder to plumb into the main tank on the F3). 8 litre fits nicely across the rear seat (I've already disabled the passenger...
