• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest Routes - How are you getting there?

Routing I'll be heading to Cincinnati via I-71 on Sunday. Staying with my daughter and departing for Cuba via I-71, I-64 and I-44 early Monday morning. I'll be taking the southern route thru Louisville to St. Louis because it's more scenic than the Indianapolis route. Then on to Cuba. Milage is...

the most dangerous motorcycle on the road

Brakes I have been riding since 1964 and I missed the hand brake on the Spyder. The addition of the ISCI handbrake was the first mod I installed after buying the RT. This allows me to rest my feet on the highway pegs and not worry about stopping. The Handbrake is well worth its cost.

The dumbest comment / question I've heard...

Dumb This one is a little off-line but it is still kind of interesting. It happened 2 year ago as I was traversing northern Idaho on my way to Washington. I had stopped to fill up and go to the men's room. When I cam out a guy was giving the Spyder a close look. Following is the conversation...

How Many years of street riding experience do you have?

How long :agree: with Scotty. I got my first bike, a 1949 Indian Scout, in 1964. I needed some money and sold it for $125. I wonder what it would be worth today?:(

Something May Be Coming Down the Spyder Pike!

Steering :agree: with Scotty on this one. I would much prefer the rear to break loose rather than the front.

    Another leaning Trike

Leaning Trike It looks to me like the thing is leaning in the WRONG DIRECTION. It looks to be leaning toward the outside of the curve. I would think you want to lean to the INSIDE of the curve, no?

    REAR SUSPENSION

Rear Suspension There was a problem with the AIR BAG on the manual shock. I had to have mine replaced under warranty. I think there is a service bulletin out on the problem. Once replaced, the air pressure would stay up for weeks.

    Electrical Problem

Battery Voltage :agree:I agree with Scotty. Don't use a high-amperage charger:lecturef_smilie:. The thing that confuses me is how you can get a "High Voltage" reading:hun:. The Lead-Acid battery is only capable of producing 12 Volts or less. Since it produces power via a chemical reaction (like...
