• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

My '16 RTL has 60,000 miles on it. Should I be concerned, or are the '22 & '23 year rotors bad?

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

What is the procedure for pulling the sample without draining the oil? Do you warm the cycle up and use a syringe with a hose run down the dipstick tube? What length of hose is needed for the 1330?

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

Back to the original question, if you search the archives you will find an oil sample analyzed with a run time of 3 years and 9500 miles that came back with flying colors and another where the cycle had sat for over 4 years came back the same. Both were top recommended oils by this forum!

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

Normally I would agree but in this case the yearly service would be like having oil in your cabinet for a year and throwing it away because it is a year old.

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

900 miles in a year doesn't mean much to me. It depends more on the number of rides it took to get there. If you rode 10 times to get the 900 miles it would be much better than riding say 60 times. The oil needs to brought up in temp to burn off the nasty stuff that can accumulate from short...

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

Another added benefit, though slight, is that according to my odometer I have ridden 1,308 miles and the GPS says I have ridden 1,319 so far this year. That gives me a .33 mpg increase!

Leak comes and goes? Shop did not find it. Help???

If you don't want to buy the pressure test kit many auto parts places allow you to rent the kit and you get your money back if you return it in a reasonalbe amount of time. Do take your cap in to make sure the kit has what you need.

Leak comes and goes? Shop did not find it. Help???

On my 2016 RTL my oetiker clamp on the hose going to the right radiator started seeping. I had to remove the battery to get a clear shot to remove it.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

It meets all the requirements. Run it and then have the oil analyzed. We all would like to see the results.

About to replace the Fuel filter on my 2021 RT - what is the best type of hose clamp, and what sizes are needed?

At 50,000 miles my right radiator oetiker clamp was weeping very slightly. To access the crimp I had to remove the battery. Replaced it with an old school worm good quality screw type.

2016 Spyder F3 hard starting when hot.

Your Spyder does not act like mine. My initial cranking speed is noticeably slower especially if a cold morning. After a ride and restart the engine spins much quicker. Can it be that after your engine warms up the starter drags? Sorry, I don't know how to troubleshoot that. Just a thought after...

Does the Evap canister pre-filter need to be changed? If so, is it DIY, or take it to a Dealer?

At $10.00 they are making $8.00. Just take it apart, blow it off, wash it, dry it, and maybe add a couple drops of oil. Done mine 2x and maybe next time I will replace!

Does the Evap canister pre-filter need to be changed? If so, is it DIY, or take it to a Dealer?

On my 2016 RTL, I was able to take mine apart and cleaned it. I have done this twice now. It gets pretty dirty.

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

Received it yesterday. I love the automatic clip-on feature. Once attached it is a one hand operation. I was able to check and inflate my car and van in less than 5 minutes for both. The hose is narrow enough to fit between the double spokes on the sprocket in case the stem in hidden by them...

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

It looks like the consensus is that Slime is a no-go for the Spyder. I am using Ride-On motorcycle formula because can't find the auto formula. I started using Ride-On because of endorsements I found on this forum a while back and I like it so far. Anyone had any balance issues, leak failures...

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

I think they are recommending the motorcycle formula because the auto/suv formula is impossible to find. I looked for months on their site and it was always out of stock. i wanted the auto because it is thinner making it better for balancing and not as good for repair of a leak. My bike...
