• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just found these RPM levels for the 1330

This sounds like they are stating the RPMs for the SE5 on the earlier bikes.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

I have now had my RTL for almost 5 years and put on almost 62,000 miles. I have records for all gas along with $/gal that I have bought since I have owned it. I did not keep track of octane level with each purchase but have used all levels. One thing I have noticed is the cost/gallon has the...

What's with the Herky Jerky on first cold start-up of each day? Any thoughts?

Mine does this also and the colder the day the worst it is. I think it is the computer figuring things out. Runs like a beast after some warm up time. I just don't crowd it right off the bat. Mine has never stalled!

    A Friendly Maintenance Reminder

Thanks. Last time I checked mine with the Kriket it was ~160. Maybe I have vibrations, but don't know for sure so if it ain't broke... And thank you @Jetfixer, see something, say something!

    A Friendly Maintenance Reminder

What benefit do these belt idlers do for my year of RTL? Always trying to improve her!

My MPG skyrocketed in ECO Mode - is ECO Mode really that much better?

I run in ECO mode, but I never shift when it tells me to. By keeping the RPMs up there is plenty of power and when I open it up I feel by not having WOT there is less stress on the drive train.

Why won't my Spyder trans Auto upshift?

The great thing about the SE is that if it is working correctly it is virtually impossible to kill the motor pulling away from a stop sign. You should never get caught out in traffic trying to get it restarted after you kill it. Seen it many times with other brands!

Having trouble wiring a Garmin XT, so should I just run it on its battery? If I do, will it still show traffic?

Did your bike come with the GPS or are you adding a new one? If the bike came with this GPS the black box sounds to me to be the docking station and charges and connects it to your sound system.

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

The results of the poll should alone speak for itself! Maybe we should do an 'are you satisfied with the OEM tires' as most of us have experience with them?

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

Tap into some of the untapped potential of your machine by putting good quality car tires on her. I love the Vredesteins all the way around. If I had stayed with Kendas for the rear, I would be on tire 6 by now. I just changed the rear, and that is number 4. I would still be on 3 if I hadn't run...

What year or years of RT Limited Editions had the most problems or recalls? Any issues with 2015's?

My 2016 RTL is still going strong at 65,000. Only had the front sprocket recall and a Cam position Sensor. Easy owner fix on the CPS.

Bad news if you want a set of 165/60R-15 Vredestein Quatracs from tire rack!

I have a different machine but I run the 175/55R15 and love the way it handles. I now have 39,000 on mine. I have never had mine aligned, but I will when I get new tires after the riding season. I did have mine recently remounted, balanced, and rotated, as mine were wearing on the insides on...

Where are you from? Where do you live?

West Central Illinois. Good - Very rural area. Only 60 miles to MO. Bad - Taxes! Constant bridge repair. Corn sweat is a real thing!

Bad news if you want a set of 165/60R-15 Vredestein Quatracs from tire rack!

I was able to see the condition of your fronts from a picture that you posted of your windshield on "what did you do to your Spyder today". Am interested in knowing how many miles are on these tires in the picture.

Bad news if you want a set of 165/60R-15 Vredestein Quatracs from tire rack!

The diameter of the 165 is 22.8" and tread width is 6.5". The diameter of the 175 is 22.5" and tread width is 7.0". This is according to Tire Rack specs.

Why would I have this Front wheel shake on a 2011 RT??

The original owner of my RTL had the original OEM Kenda's replaced under warranty at 2,600 miles. Complained about a shake in the front end. Out of round front tires.

Just bought my first Spyder! Considering buying a warranty as it sat for 4 years - your thoughts?

I tripled the mileage on the rear tire and 1.5X on the fronts when I started using Vredestein tires for basically the same cost. OEM tires on wet roads are dangerous when worn. Not so with the Vredestein tires. Amazing wet tires.

Just bought my first Spyder! Considering buying a warranty as it sat for 4 years - your thoughts?

I would be a little concerned with the tires if it truly sat for 4 years. In 2021 I rode out to Sturgis from IL and was amazed by the number of toy haulers littering the roadways and the tire parts on the road. The stories that people were talking about their tires coming apart and the...

Anyone tried Rotating their front directional tires? Worth it?
