• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got a PedalBox, getting VSS Fault & Limp Mode msg - any ideas/fixes?

I got a Pedal Box from Lamonster and installed it this morning. When I took it for a test ride, I started on Sport mode and really liked it. I thought I would try the Sport + mode, when I accelerated shifted into 2nd, it went into Limp Mode. I coasted to the side of the road (I was on a very...

Recent BRP Email for 2023 model pre-orders

I agree, to get rid of fossil fuel vehicles without the infrastructure to support them is insanity. Here Calif we are already having rolling brownouts because of a lack of electrical power to go around. But now we are going to put more of a strain on our electrical grid, without any plans to...

Thoughts on Pedal Commander vs Pedal Box - & where's yours mounted?

Thoughts on Pedal Commander vs Pedal Box - & where's yours mounted?

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I am leaning toward the Pedal Box from Lamonsters Garage, the one with the top cuff mount. Originally I was thinking of hiding it under the seat, but after looking under the seat, I'm not sure if it would fit. Then I thought that I would just put it...

Any inputs on Ultimate vs Corbin for a Ryker?

I have found that "off the self seats" are usually one size to fit all. and are kind of hit and miss. I live about 2 hours from Corbin (Hollister) in Calif. I make an appointment and go have my seat custom made for me. I have done this for my last 2 bikes, and plan on going to get one for my...

Thoughts on Pedal Commander vs Pedal Box - & where's yours mounted?

I am thinking of getting either the Pedal Box or Commander. They both seem to do basically the same thing. The commander is not waterproof, but comes with Bluetooth so I would most likely mount it under the seat. The Pedal Box is water resistant (not water proof) and has an option for Bluetooth...

Honda's pulling the plug on the Gold Wing (and Yamaha on the FJR)

I've talked with the guys at my local Honda shop (goldwing). They told me it's not that they don't sell, it's that they have a waiting list to buy one. They never hit the sales room floor. The dealer ship is allotted a set amount a year. I also own a FJR, and rumor is that they're...

    New Addition to the Family

After everything I have read here on the forum, I decided that the sway bar was the first thing that needed to be done. On my first ride on it (straight from the dealer), It felt like it was skating a bit side to side. The next morning before I took off again I checked the front tires, and...

    New Addition to the Family

I got to pick her up yesterday. Before I picked her up I had them put a BaJa Ron Sway bar on. I only was able to get about 50 miles put on her yesterday. Coming off of 2 wheels to this, its really different. I've got some adjusting to do. But it rides great. Again I want to do a shout out and...

Pulled the trigger on a 2022 - factory or 3rd party extended warranty?

First I want to thank everyone that has answered my questions on this forum. you all made my decision a lot easier. I put my down payment on a 2022 RT yesterday. It's now on order, and should be here in about a week. My local dealer had 4 on their showroom floor about a month ago when I...

What are you paying for insurance? Who are you insured with?

I've done some shopping around. The big expense is collision. Without Collision added I can get it around $300 a year. I've checked with Progressive, Dairyland, Safeco, and Gieco so far. All are $1000.00 per year or more. With Gieco if I raise the deductible to $1000, It brings the rate...

What are you paying for insurance? Who are you insured with?

I was expecting something in the $400 to $500 range per year. Back in 2008 when I bought my FJR (New) I think insurance on it was just over $300 per year (it's gone down since). And that was through Progressive. My Agent I use here in town is a independent, I get good rates on my house and other...

What are you paying for insurance? Who are you insured with?

I've done my research, and thanks to a lot of you here on the forum all my questions have been answered. I signed up for the 3 wheel course, and took it about a week ago. I was hoping to try out a RT, but the course was done on Rykers. The wife got a lot out of the course seeing that she has...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

I went to my Dealer to talk to them and get some info on what their maintenance costs were. They have 3 RTLs and 1 F3 in stock ready to go. I got to sit on one of the RTLs and was very surprised about the seat. I didn't get to talk much with the Salesman, My Daughter in law called and was...

I signed up The Wife and I for the Rider course (When I told my wife about the class she said she wanted to learn how to ride one also) on Aug 13th in Santa Clara Ca. After all the Info I have gathered, I am torn between an RT Limited and an F3 Limited Special. I put that on my notes for the...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

Thank you Peter Aawen. That's some of the more detailed info I was wanting about the handling. Even though I'm on a bike not considered to be a sport bike (In case you don't know much about the FJR the It leans heavily on the Sport of the Sport Touring category its in). I can keep pace with...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

Thank you all again for all the input. I have a dealer here in town that has a few RT Limited in stock (or according to their web sight they do). I think I'll go and have a chat with them about some of my Maintenance costs questions (which is not a deal breaker). That being said, I do most of my...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

I am thinking of purchasing a Spyder RT limited or a F3 limited (leaning heavily towards the RT). But I have a few questions. Here is some background info on me first. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 13 and got my first street bike when I was 19. I am now 65 and currently own a FJR 1300...
