• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The life that some will not understand

When asked why I like to ride, I reply "If you don't understand, I can't explain. It's something beyond words.". But this fits perfectly.

    The "Snake"

A couple of weeks ago the wife and I went on a road trip. I took one of my favorite roads in Northern Ca. Hwy 36 from Red Bluff to Fortuna. I have ridden this road many times on 2 wheels and its a blast. I am still a fairly new Spyder owner (1 year this month). I also should mention that I like...

What's the general opinion - Wax or Ceramic on your Spyder?

It seems like everyone really likes Ceramic. Since Ive always used wax (Turtle Wax has always been my preference) and have no experience with Ceramic coatings. I looked up some more info on how to apply ceramic. I was wondering if it was just something you just wipe on. What I found was that...

What's the general opinion - Wax or Ceramic on your Spyder?

I was wondering what the general opinion of using Wax vrs using a Ceramic coating is. I was going to put a good coat of Wax on my Spyder, but I got talking to a guy about this and he suggested Ceramic. I've done some research on the web. but it's very mixed. Ceramic last longer, and Wax gives a...

Any 2020-2023 RT Tall Riders out there?? Need advice?

I have been looking at highway pegs, but came to the conclusion that they wouldn't benefit me. The ones out there now don't give any more "Stretch" for leg room for us taller riders. Maybe with this being said, someone with the means and capability can design and make a set that extend out in...

Any 2020-2023 RT Tall Riders out there?? Need advice?

I'm 6'2 , a bit shorter than you and have a 22 RTL. I got the riser block from Lamonster to raise the handle bars, then went to Corbin and had a custom seat made. I had the front part of the seat "raised" about 2 inches when they made the seat. I have knee issues, and this made a big...

    Review: New Corbin Custom Seat

Good question. I have no idea. It may be something totally custom they made or maybe something European. . They have another one sitting in their R&D area.

    Review: New Corbin Custom Seat

Yes there is a door over the gas cap. Very easy to open and fill up. No more fiddling with the ignition key and having to raise the seat. And as a bonus you can still use the factory backrest. Most Corbin seats require you to purchase one of theirs.

    Review: New Corbin Custom Seat

Last Week I did a Ride in at Corbin in Hollister to have a custom seat made. I think this is the seat that should of been on it stock. (I told that to Mike Corbin, and he said that if that was so he would be out of business). I am 6'2" and the stock seat was a bit low for me. At Corbin I had a...

Anyone else a loner and not a group rider?

I am a fairly new Spyder owner. Bought my '22 RTL last Oct. But I have been riding for over 40 years. I also have a '08 Yamaha FJR. We do a lot of different type of riding, from day trips to 3-4 week vacations. I've tried group riding, and it's not really for me. Now I do have 1 buddy that I...

2021 F3-S, VSS Fault at Startup

I have a "22 RTL, and every now and then the same thing happens to me. Usually on the first time I start it for the day. It turns over a bit slow, then fires up. Then the VSS fault pops up. I was going to mention it when I do my first maintenance.

    Sprocket vs Shaft final drive

I have owned all 3, Chain drive (1978 KZ 1000), Shaft Drive (2004 VMax,2008 FJR1300) and now a belt drive (2022 Spyder RT L). In my opinion, the shaft was the easiest to maintain (between the two I have owned, I just purchased the Spyder). Chain drive you are constantly having to adjust the...

Thoughts on Pedal Commander vs Pedal Box - & where's yours mounted?

You are correct by all the Info I have looked at except for one thing. The Pedal Box does come in a Bluetooth version (Pedal Box +). It just costs more. if it helps, I opted for the Pedal Box from Lamoster with the top cuff mount. It was very easy to install, and works great.

Got a PedalBox, getting VSS Fault & Limp Mode msg - any ideas/fixes?

Yes I did as I was Instructed by Lamonster, reconnect and made sure all connections were tight. Then I re calibrated the throttle (very slowly). I haven't had any Issues since.

What are you paying for insurance? Who are you insured with?

That may be true, the minimum coverage is Ca. is 15K/30K . That can be used up very fast in an accident. It leaves you open to a civil law suit for any balance that the insurance doesn't cover.

Got a PedalBox, getting VSS Fault & Limp Mode msg - any ideas/fixes?

I'll keep that in mind. I did try shutting everything off and waiting for a bit to see if it would come out of Limp Home mode. But when I restarted, it was still in limp mode. That's when I thought of disconnecting the Pedal box.

Got a PedalBox, getting VSS Fault & Limp Mode msg - any ideas/fixes?

I got a reply to my email from Lamonster. They suggested me to re connect it, that it might not of been connected tight enough and one of the pins were not connected well. I did that making sure everything was tight, then reprogrammed it to the throttle. I took it for a test run and this time...
