• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Probably a stupid idea - thinking I might go from a 2018 F3 Ltd to an RTL S2S - am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

I don't think it's a stupid idea. Why not treat yourself to the newest? I did that in 2023, trading my 2014 RTL with 60K+ miles for a leftover 2022 RTL. Instead of installing additional lights, trailer hitch, etc. I had the dealer do it all at once. I have since installed wiring for heated gear...

Deer collision - safer on a Spyder? Thoughts? Or first-hand accounts?

On 9/11/2025, I was on a ride with my sweetheart. We were traveling on a road in an exclusive area that had recently installed speed bumps. I slowed for them so was traveling about 20 mph. A truck pulled out from a side street, and I could not see the speed bumps, so I slowed more. The truck...

Anyone know who makes highway pegs that work with OEM Floorboard lights on 2022 S2S?

I haven't found any that can be mounted with the floorboard lights since they use the same mounting holes. So, the Showchrome and Lamonster pegs (which show 'no good' in red on the description page) that were mentioned cannot be installed.

2014 RT Limited Struggling on Starting, then the display goes to vertical lines! Could this be the battery going bad already?

I disagree with the tech, if you ride frequently, keeping your ride on a battery tender is not necessary. To date I have not had a battery issue. Here is my story: I used to keep my rides on a battery tender whenever she was resting. Since 2023, I live where I must park outside with no access...

Anyone know what these things on the front wheels are?

I had a set as well. As @NorwegianRT said, they ate batteries like they were starving. I moved to the next generation that came with rechargeable batteries that were re-charged by the spinning of the wheels. Mine never worked very well. GloRyder went out of business about a year or 2 ago,

2014 RT - Not Limited. Were Heated Seats available?

Yes they were. You could also get a heated seat from Ultimate seats.

Anyone found or come up with something to keep the contents in those annoying side load saddle bags?

I use a tupperware box and a ziplock bag. I have a cover in the other saddlebag and rain gear in the frunk.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

You are correct. My friend had that same issue and he replaced the shaft himself.

I want to add marker/turn lights to my RT - any kits besides these? Or DIY setups?

On my 2014 RTL, I used the Tricled product for 60K+ miles with no problems.

Newbie just got my Spyder - what's the cheapest/best option for putting a rear seat back rest on my 2022 base RT?

The 2022 Base RT did not come with the passenger back rest, as shown from the Can Am website. Backrests can be purchased from Can Am or Slingmods. Of the 2, Slingmods is less expensive, but both require the BRP LinQ Rack - OEM Part# 219401145, which is another $400. - -

Any ideas on adding an aftermarket USB for phone charging during travels on our 2017 RT?

You may want to consider the Quadlock wireless charging head with the separate vibration damper. Compared other solutions it's a bit pricy at about $100 (on the quadlock site), but I like it. Whatever you choose, I would not wire it directly to the battery, to prevent parasitic draw DickB mentions.

Having trouble wiring a Garmin XT, so should I just run it on its battery? If I do, will it still show traffic?

Glad you got the XT wired properly. On the XT2 traffic updates come from its connection to your phone and the app Tread, on the XT you need the Garmin Drive app as DickB posted. The black box is a voltage converter as EdMat posted.

VSS Faults, what do you think is causing this?

I have a 2022 RTL, purchased new in April of 2023. About 6 or so months later, I began getting the VSS code at initial start-up. I replaced the weak OEM battery with a Yuasa battery and magically, the VSS issue was solved.

2025 RT Ltd in need of 1st Service - How much!?!?

I think you misread the specs on page 123. Under the Engine and in the Break-in column, the first replace oil and filter is at 5,000 km (3,000 miles). The row above it states that the oil level is to be inspected every 1,500 km (1,000 miles) regardless of calendar time.
