• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    DOT HELMET STANDARDS

Here is a pretty good Reddit conversation too. Not technical, but a good discussion none the less... https://m.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/2supo7/is_a_snell_rating_on_a_helmet_overrated/ IMHO, I don't worry so much about the specific certifications. It's hard to go wrong with any modern...

    DOT HELMET STANDARDS

Here is a good read with a link that has all the regulation 22 info. The actual download reg will surely put you to sleep....[emoji1] http://billyscrashhelmets.co.uk/ece-22-05-regulation-22-testing-crash-helmets/ Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    DOT HELMET STANDARDS

ECE surpasses DOT and Snell and is pretty much the standard for bikes. ECE is the only one of the 3 that does abrasion testing. Keep in mind that just because a helmet isn't Snell rated doesn't mean it wouldn't pass. Snell currently will not pass helmets with internal visors or modular...

    BE AWARE -175 front tires

Can't speak of fuel mileage because Spyders are pretty poor in that area anyway, but the inner fender cover has no impact on, nor does it secure/protect any of the wiring or harness.[emoji106] Really, running without the inner fender covers on the 13'+ fenders is no different than running the...

    BE AWARE -175 front tires

Relying on the air pressure of the tire to create adequate fender clearance, IMHO is foolish. Pretty easy to shank a tire.. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Is an F3 for me?

To take it a step further the RS would be the Dyna of the Harley world with the ST being a Switchback. 😁👍 Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Is an F3 for me?

Your going to be in the wind a lot more on the F3 than you were on the Street Glide. The RT is the Ultra/Street Glide of the Spyders. An F3 would be the Softail/Road King if we're comparing Harley/Spyder Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    BE AWARE -175 front tires

Mike, Yes, you can. I'm running the newer style (13'+) front fenders on my RS. I never even put those inner fenders on and even cut the metal brackets off the supports. No issues. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    2009 vs 2014

You've brought that up before. It's funny how some of you will spread silly tales and stories to believe what you want. Weigh them, you'll be surprised. [emoji106] Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    2009 vs 2014

A little of this and that added to the weight. Started in 13'. Wheels, exhaust, more electronics, frame. So 13'+ gets more weight and less hp....cool huh? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Dead 1330 on my F3-S...

I'm sure warranty will cover it. The engine/trans is an assembly so I'd bet BRP does a complete swap. It's an odd failure and the first I've heard of one like that. I wouldn't sweat it. Lean on them to get it done quick so you have as little down time as possible Sent from my Nexus 6...

No, the ST came out in 13' so it falls in the 13'+ specs. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Rotax 998 Reliability Phosphor Bronze in Oil

Personally, I hate being stranded. It's also a bummer when a fellow riders machine breaks down. Worse is when someone goes out on a ride with a machine they know is hurt and rides it anyway. The problem isn't going to fix itself. Parts aren't that expensive and it's a fairly easy winter...

Rotax 998 Reliability Phosphor Bronze in Oil

That motor/trans is done if your finding bronze flakes. It's a ticking time bomb at this point. There are a number of things that can cause it...low oil, clogged oil screen, crank walk, abuse, etc, etc. Likely a thrust washer in the trans if I had to take a WAG. Best to pull it now and start...

    2009 vs 2014

I'm going to go against the grain and say to buy the 09'. It's going to be cheaper to buy, cheaper to mod, easier to mod for better performance, and faster too. At the end of the day just buy the one that gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling! Enjoy! Sent from my Venue 8 3830 using Tapatalk

2012 RT SM5 clutch leak found and fixed!

BRP uses rubber for their orings and the brake fluid deteriorates it in pretty short order. The black brake fluid is also super common as its the junk from the breakdown of the soft innards. With the stock rubber parts it's best to flush the fluid evey other year or so.....or swap to aflas...
