• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Comments and opinions welcome.... is the 2021 worth the upgrade?

I went from a 14 to a 20. It LOOKS much better, but that is about taste. The extra storage on the Limited is helpful. It rides about half way between an F3 and 2014-19 RT. It was less comfortable for me (I'm short) until I got the Lamonster brake pedal riser and different handlebars, now I...

Lamonster handlebar risers vs Rox risers - any comparison?

Lamonster hit a home run on his, they work perfectly and feel like stock. There are no structural issues I can see, either.

Is there a Hill Hold feature on my 2019 RTL?

I never felt one on 2014 RT-S, but do notice that my 2020 RT-L will sometimes lock up on a hill rather than roll backwards.

First Spyder Purchase - Need Advice

To my thinking, for both performance and build quality, a 2014-2019 is far preferable to the 2010-2013 Spyders.

For the MODS - how can we donate to support the Forum?

The sponsors here are the ones who foot the bill, so patronizing their businesses will keep them on board. Let them know you found them here.

Don't really expect an answer, but WHY all the BuRP ads?

They may not be thinking about what's for sale at the moment, it's probably more about a long term strategy to build the brand and ridership. If they run short this year, they will make even more next year. The more successful they are, the larger the community of riders and the greater the...

    thinking about cross country ride?

A thought on towing - even the AAA Premier is 200 miles, which may or may not be useful depending on where you are. GoodSam will tow you to the nearest location "willing and able" to do the work, so the membership is likely worth the peace of mind. I don't agree that a dealer is the only place...

New women rider, looking for advice on riding equipment

First off, welcome to the group and congrats on your Ryker and your gear! The video was a great idea, and thank you for sharing it. Every rider finds their own level of safety, but I replaced my helmet quite soon after I saw this diagram when I realized that a 3/4 helmet provides only 2/3...

Key or no key that is the question...

I can assure you that there is a very good chance that nobody will see it in CA, or if they do, nobody will decide to take it for a ride. I'll try no to build on my experience in the future.

    Pressed my luck

A tender can’t charge a truly dead or very low battery. You’ll have it jump it first and ride the Spyder for a bit to get an initial charge in there. Chances are that your battery is fine if you haven’t done this yet.

New Forum suggestion - Ride Reports

It feels obvious when you think about it, yet I've never seen it come up, which is the usual indication of a great idea.

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

So, this is what I was talking about: https://www.slingmods.com/canam-spyder-rear-trunk-luggage-bag-f3t-f3l-2020-up-rt-models-with-rear-trunk-hopnel?vehicle=1 And I found this when I looked that I wasn't expecting to see...

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

The saddlebags and the front are the same if you use the Hopnel luggage (the Can-Am luggage wastes a huge amount of valuable space). The rear requires a new piece (instead of the two separate pieces) and is only about $25-ish.

    2019 F3T - can I convert to top case w/linq?

It seems to depend on the size of the helmets - it doesn't hold my Neotech 2 together with my wife's modular Shark. Still, there is plenty of room for one in the frunk, and I would think there are lots of helmets where you can fit two in the 2020 RT-L.

    Pressed my luck

On the battery jumper, get more than you think you need. I've had one that I thought would be enough, and finally replaced it with what I should have bought in the first place. Night and day difference: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S82LG1K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Maximizing 2020 RTL trunk

Agree on the Hopnel bags, great price and very good sizing. The quality is only adequate (but fair for the cost), just be careful as you use the zipper - it's easy for the lining to get stuck in it.

2018 RT vs 2021 RT BRP Connect - improved any?

It's worthless on the 2020's, which I believe are identical to the 2021's. I'm really puzzled why they released this at all - poorly functioning software is much worse than no software at all. I love my Spyder, and I understand that not everything can be perfect, but this is completely...

Ohio Riders: is an MC3 Endorsement possible/acceptable?

I'm in CA where we don't need any endorsement for three wheels, but I decided to get my regular (two wheel) motorcycle endorsement as well, and I'm glad I did. I ride with two wheelers when I'm in a group, and it really helps to have ridden on two wheels, and it also saves on insurance. There...

    Shoei Neotech 2

I bought mine in person from Chaparrel and was able to get some discount, but the best prices I've seen are at the Progressive Motorcycle Shows. If you ride a lot, it's worth the cost to have the right helmet. My wife bought a Shark EVO One 2, which I may like even better than my own. Still...
