• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No more motorcycle magazines for me...

The world changes. We can change with it or attempt to reside in the past. Some lament these changes, and believe me, I agree that some are truly lamentable. But without change, we wouldn't be riding Spyders/Rykers or Canyons. Some changes are commendable. We should take advantage of them.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

If I owned a Harley, which I never have, it would be a V-Rod. Somehow, it's been decided that the Rod is a girls bike. Never quite figured that one out. And not the reason I never owned one. Besides, I've ridden with some females who were quite good at handling a motorcycle.

Open Trailers for towing Spyders - what's the best suspension type? Experience, opinions, or are we just over-thinking this?

I agree with what people are saying. I would add that tire diameter is important. Trailers with tiny tires are problematic in a number of dimensions. Some suspension is a good idea. Torsion will generally give a better ride, but spring or torsion, it isn't going to make a meaningful difference...

That guy got one thing right. You really have a powerful need to ride if you're willing to go with a Harley trike. That's a hard machine to enjoy.

Verge TS ULTRA Motorcycle delivers 737 lb-ft of Torque from Zero RPM!

I find it hard to believe the 855 lb.-ft. torque of the Ultra version. The original 6.7 Ford Powerstroke diesel had 800 lb.-ft. torque. And, of course, that was not across the entire powerband like what an electric motor delivers from zero to redline. I can guarantee you that you're not going...

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

We do it at the shop all day long. Not a problem...

Verge TS ULTRA Motorcycle delivers 737 lb-ft of Torque from Zero RPM!

https://www.vergemotorcycles.com/ Link at the top. But for reference, my Suzuki M109R 1800cc torque monster motorcycle delivers 118 lb-ft at 3,200 RPM. This motorcycle delivers 737 lb-ft from zero RPM. The Verge TS Ultra pushes it to 885 ft-lbs Torque and 2.5 seconds 0-60 mph.

When should you change your Spark Plugs?

I get this question often. If you look, you'll find many opinions. What prompts this post is that we just had a Can-Am Side-by-Side come in throwing a good number of codes, in 'Limp Mode', and just barely running at all. It basically uses a turbo charged Ryker 900 engine (and no, we can't turbo...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#11 - Tell Us what you Really Think! I posted this elsewhere. But I thought I'd include it here as well. Lamont and I were coming back from Daytona Bike Week on our Suzuki M109R's. We stopped somewhere along the way at a hotel for the night. 2 very nice looking, spunky ladies in probably their...

Yes it’s the age old tire question… What's currently the best replacement?

That is so sad to hear. I have 4 boys. I can't imagine losing any of them. My heart goes out to you and your family ....

Yes it’s the age old tire question… What's currently the best replacement?

The Vredestien is still a worthy 'Go To' tire in my opinion. I've also been testing the Continental ContiProContact. I have been quite pleased with this tire as well.

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I've never understood what prompts people to hate on someone else's ride. Frankly, I think it is thinly masked jealousy. I may not ever want to own what you ride. But that is a long way from hating on it. If you like what you ride, I'm 100% for it.

Lamont and I were coming back from Daytona Bike Week on our Suzuki M109R's. We stopped somewhere along the way at a hotel for the night. 2 very spunky ladies in probably their 50's (about our age at the time) walked up to us as we dismounted in the parking lot. "Hello Boys!" one of them said...

Any ideas where to look for whatever this is with my 2016 RT's Power steering???

My original 08 GS came from the factory with a bad DPS. I had no idea because it never worked and mine was the only Spyder I ever rode. I put about 5,000 miles on it that way. One day, while Lamont and I were working on his bike, we needed some hardware. Lamont asked if he could ride my Spyder...

Any ideas where to look for whatever this is with my 2016 RT's Power steering???

DPS stands for Dynamic Power Steering. It starts at 100% input at very low speeds and tapers to zero input at around 45 mph. At least that is how it is designed to work. The earlier models (basically 08-12) did pretty much the same thing, except that the DPS could take over steering at any speed...

    See you next year!

Way too complicated for me. I ride whenever I can and find something else to do in-between....

Any ideas where to look for whatever this is with my 2016 RT's Power steering???

Could be an Angle Position Sensor issue. Hook it up to BUDS to see if that might be part of the problem.
